Couldn't sleep, turned on the tube and the CBC is currently broadcasting Game 6 of the 2010 Finals.

Sharp just scored.

You ever get the feeling that you're being trolled by the Almighty.

Oh, my bad, I thought you were saying it's a good thing the Devils are making a comeback, and I wasn't sure how that would fit with not wanting low seeds to win.

Why has the line been crossed?

Interesting article..

Quote:
SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Dan Boyle was in midsentence, glancing up at the TV.

"It seems like every shift guys are trying to start stuff," the veteran Sharks blueliner said Sunday just as another fight broke out in Philadelphia.

"Just as you said that, look," teammate Marc-Edouard Vlasic pointed to the Penguins-Flyers game on the tube in the dressing room.

A weekend full of fisticuffs and cheap shots around the NHL playoffs has people around the sport buzzing.

Just what exactly is in those water bottles?

"It's playoffs, it's a scrappy time of year, especially in the first round," Sharks coach Todd McLellan said Sunday.

Well, yes, the playoffs are always intense and emotional. But it just seems like this year a line has been crossed in some cases. Or are we just getting more soft as a society that we don't stomach the same things that have always been part of the game?

Sunday afternoon's fight-filled circus in Philadelphia just added to a weekend full of chaos, which included suspendable acts in New York on Saturday as well a little craziness in St. Louis on the name night.

What gives?

Through conversations we had with several team executives and coaches around the league Sunday, we came up with a list of possible factors:

I don't expect them to, but I could see the NHL coming down hard on the three Penguins players with hearings scheduled because of this. There's been a bit too much stuff going on so far these playoffs, really. Weber, Franzén's spear, the nonsense going on between the Sens and the Rangers, a few really ugly hits by the Sharks and the sucker punch by Sobotka and the rag dolling Polak put on Braun in revenge. The playoffs are usually not this plain dirty. Tough and hard hitting, yes, but not quite like this. After the first two games, our series was considered the clean one.

Alfie with a concussion.
I hope this goes to a Game 6 so we can see Carkner Carkner Hagelin.

Chris Kreider making his debut for the Rangers, in place of the suspended Hagelin.

That's funny because many in Canada are saying the opposite about CBC.

Semin makes it 1-0 Caps. Basically game over.

Is a second round consisting of FLA/WAS and PHI/OTT too much to ask?

For all of the **** Ovechkin gets about his playoff performances, he apparently has never gone two consecutive playoff games without a point.

He leads the league in points per game in the playoffs since the lockout. I had that discussion with someone last year. Deer in headlights.

But because most of the rest of the team are chokers, he gets the heat since he's captain. He actually averages more points in the playoffs than he does in the regular season.

Florida would get Ottawa, so yes.

Listening to the media down here before the series started, they were talking about how the Caps win if OV scores, and they'll lost the series if he doesn't. They basically set him up as the scapegoat before the series even began, placing all the success/failure on him. It was pretty annoying. What about Backstrom, Semin and Green?

Completely forgot about Ottawa's tank job.

Peverley ties the game with a softie.
And as I write this I miss OV's goal.

Watching this OTT/NYR game, this is the type of game where one team outplays the other but still loses. OTT completely outplaying the Rangers, but Lundquist single handedly keeping the Rangers in it. Made like 3-4 flat out rob saves.

Everytime Lunqvist actually gives up a rebound a Ranger is right on it. Infuriating.

Going into tonight, the league ex Flyers/Pens was averaging 4.6 Goals per game.

Flyers/Pens are averaging 3.6 goals per period.
