Kreider looked like he was overthinking out there, trying to figure out what to do rather than doing it.

Also, I think the pace of the game is higher than he expected. At the end of one shift, he looked gassed.

He wasn't terrible. He wasn't excellent either. He looked like a talented rokkie playing his first NHL game, allright?

No, i'm saying the reffing has been atrocious this game and this entire series and i'm not surprised it's happening in your arena.

In my opinion, we are lucky that Spezza hasn't been the best. A guy a lot of people forget about who finished 4th in the league in scoring. The scary part is, we are having a tough time with the Senators, and Spezza hasn't even found his swagger yet.

That period was not the response I was hoping for.

One team won the East this season and the other didn't. Hard to tell which team that is tonight. Not a bad period, but not a good one either.

He's causing plays and momentum in the zone to die. It's not terrible but it's night and day between how the line is playing with Kreider vs Hags. I hope they are going over the 1st period video with him.

Bad things will happen if the team constantly refuses to clear the puck from the zone when they have the chance and instead keep throwing it back behind their own net.

offense looks slightly anemic, the big time offensive players are looking invisible, we dont do well when that happens

Kreider usually looks like that as he is very focused on the details of the game. The natural hockey shift isn't a natural thing to him, he seems to think his way through it.

Which I have no problem at all with. Its the exact same thing that Drury used to do.

Hey guys,

New poster here. Wishing you luck in beating those damn Sens. As an Ottawa resident and fan of another team, I can tell you that the amount of horsecrap the Ottawa media and fans are spewing right now is incredible. They think they have this series in the bag. And yes, they think Hagelin should be killed, even though they forget the fact that Chris Neil loves doling out elbows to the head as well (ask Chris Drury).

As for the officiating, get used to it. You're playing in their barn. They seem to get away with pretty much anything at SBP. Hell, I saw Spezza score a goal this year by pushing James Reimer and practically sitting on him as the puck made its way.

Anways, let's go NYR!

Let's do our 2nd period magic. This is usually where we realize we are playing a hockey game.

I don't think Ottawa has ever been known for good ice, strangely. You would think they would.

ha, well that's a bit harsh. I think he'll get moved down the line depth but obviously Kreider is in the Ranger's long term plans. If we go down, I could see Torts cutting his ice time.

Ottawa's ice isn't great. Alfie even blamed it for a loss during a playoff game vs. the Sabres a few years back. Then again, his team was so bad, he had to think of some excuse....
