How about treating the fans of the Thrashers with respect, rather than disdain. In the opinions I have read from Thrashers fans, this hasn't been the case.

This thread has basically gone full retard already, but I never saw something where the Jets ORGANIZATION treated the Thrashers fans with disrespect. Well beyond moving the team anyway.

Not sure what good criticizing random blowhard fans is gonna get ya.

I just read that in 2007 the coyotes sent a note to penn state about using the term white out. They are serious about keeping it so I am over the change for this year.

If you don't protect a trademark, it's easier to lose it.

TNSE bought the White Out trademark from the league way back when the Jets deal was coming together. Remember reading about it. I believe they have claim to it in Canada and the Coyotes in the states.

Ditto; reminds me of when a Kansas restaurant chain moved into Arizona forcing my neighborhood restaurant to change their name from Lone Star Steaks to Texaz Grill...

Texaz Grill's got better food than Lone Star Steakhouse... my opinion.

Yep. I think this is the third thread it's come up in now. But that's a different issue. If the Coyotes don't protect their trademark in the United States, it could dissolve before their eyes. Since "whiteout" is already a normal English word (not that Arizona gets many actual whiteouts), the protection is relatively low (i.e. "Microsoft" has greater protection than "Windows," because "windows" is already a non-proprietary English word). But even with that in mind, it's a valuable thing to hold, so it makes business sense to protect it. Not that I think it's moral, but businesses don't act moral.

Hey EJ, thanks for stating the ****ing obvious. It's just a fun thing to do, most people know it doesn't help to win the actual game, only rubes take it that seriously.

Ha, he was totally serious. We haven't won a series since moving from Winnipeg. "It doesn't work, change it up."
