But that is up to Ice Hockey UK to organize not the coach and players.
Ya never knows though. Play with some sand paper and discipline.
Heart and positive emotion can go along ways.
Good Luck/Bonne Chance from East Coast Canada.
Last year we only had two games against the Netherlands which we won easily, and look how that tournament ended. I have absolutely no optimism for this year though, we are missing some of our best players. 4th Place will be an achievement.

Any links? Unless I messed up my time zones the game should be starting any minute?

Ye I found a couple of websites that looked like they were going to play the game and it just never went up.

They didn't do too bad against Slovenia from the look of the game stats. Outplayed but kept it close

That was an expected result, a close loss was what I predicted.

Here's the hi-lites. The disallowed GB goal looked chincy even the commentators gave it an ahhhhhhhhhhh

Every year I'm surprised at how small Stephen Murphy is. I've seen him so many times in a GB uniform but it still throws me off when I see him. Any reason why GB goalies are always tiny or is it just a coincidence? North America and the top European countries have developed a new love for tall goalies and pretty much had an unofficial height requirement for goalies in the past 10 years

Speaking of GB goalies, can anyone tell me anything about Warren Gilfoyle?

I think GB goalies are smaller because most bigger kids tend to be slower and bad skaters. Over here you pretty much had to learn how to skate well on your own unless you take lessons from a figure skating instructor, but that is improving now since most clubs have learn to play programmes for young kids where they focus a lot on skating.

What Murphy lacks in size, he makes up for with his quickness, and he plays a lot bigger than he is. Ben Bowns is a large goalie, Elite Prospects lists him as 6'2 but I think he's pushing 6'3, he is the goalie of the future for GB without a doubt.

Warren Gilfoyle is a 95 born goalie from Sheffield, I've never actually seen him play because he's from the North. 95 is a good year for goalies, with Adam Goss and Connor Standing being the other very good goalies from that year bracket.

A couple of really tough games to open the tournament. Top result though to lose just 3-2 against the hosts and to have a goal disallowed as well.

Stream for Austria game, faceoff any minute now.

http://tvthek.orf.at/live/3890155

Commentary in German I think, very good quality picture.

Edit: 1-0 Austria PPG, Murphy lets in a howler. GB having more scoring chances so far though.

Oh dear, 3-0.

2nd goal GB won the faceoff, Lee tried to knock it round the boards behind the net, puck took a horrible bounce of the glass and ended up in front of the net, Murphy looking the other way since he thought the puck would go round, easy tap-in.

3rd goal Murphy makes the save and rebound goes out right in front.

If Austria score again this period I think Murphy will be replaced.

GB 4-0 down midway through the 2nd. I decided to lurk THF to see what the idiots on there have been saying recently, inspired by the HF hilarity memes thread I generated this meme after reading the thread about the women's WC's

I'm interested to see how much he has left in the tank.
He had a very poor year stats-wise in France and has been on the decline now, so the cynic in me wonders how much of this GB scoring is him and how much is the set-ups from Dowd.

General consensus from the fans out in Ljubljana is that he was our best player today. I didn't really pay much attention to the game myself, just had it on in the background.

Thanks. When he signed for my Steelers I was pretty underwhelmed. He isn't a good two-way player, had horrible stats last year and is getting on in years.
But if he's putting the puck in the net for GB and been good enough for people to say he's been the best player then that looks promising.

The feed worked for me though it took about 5 minutes to load. Score was 3-0 so I only watched until the end of the 1st.
TSN's picking up the U-18's from the quarters.
Ah, the always exciting WC. At least the format's been changed straight round robin then quarters. The old format had more stages than the life of a butterfly.
But try the feed again thurs and give it more time to load.

I meant Wed of course

Who are the greasy guys on team GB?
The mouthpiece that gets under the skin. The guy 1st to the boards that makes the opposition look over their shoulder, the guy that makes the other team keep their head up. The guy jamming the goalie?
Any rats on this team?
Might need them in the next few games........matching skill on skill figure skaters ain't workin' out so far.
Most of GB's goals have come from outside. Put the puck on net and crash the net from anywhere don't wait for a pretty set-up.
What style would you call Murphy he isn't butterfly almost stand-up?
