Legwand obviously getting demoted based on going ice cold and that really stupid penalty. Has Goose been centering Bourque and Honk all series? I'm not sure I like that. I'd switch Legs and Goose.

I thought Spals was centering the third line, and Goose the fourth. I'm hoping Trotz is just sending a message to Leggy, something along the lines of "keep playing like you did Sunday, and this is the view you'll have for the rest of the series". I can't see Spals centering AK and Rads over Leggy.

edit: Or it could be a ploy to make Babs think "Has Barry lost his ****** mind??"

I hate seeing Leggy on the 4th line because he is the only forward who can bring the puck up the ice.

But my main complaint against Trotz is that he could never seem to adapt in the middle of a playoff series. Maybe he sees something that he thinks he can exploit against Detroits lower lines.

I don't like the demotion of Legs at all. He should have a longer leash than this. Trotz attempting to rationalize last years comments that Spaling is a top 6 forward. Good grief.

I'm sure the Legwand/Spaling changes will last about 5 minutes knowing Trotz

As for Ellis/Hillen, I'm tossed. Ellis got manhandled a few times when Babcock was able to get his big guns out against him, but at least he helped out the PP a little. I trust Hillen more at EV though.

Wow, surprised to see the negative reaction on the Legwand change. I have a different take. We shortened way up on the bench for Game 3. Why? We didn't have a use for the 3rd/4th lines. However, putting Legwand with Hali and Yip is a good cycling line that could score. Hali is a shooter and is money in close. Moreover, they can play defense.

Meanwhile, Spaling can watch Rads skate around with the puck and occasionally pass it to AK just as well as Legwand. The defense on that line isn't worse and Trotz just created a 3rd line thant can actually be rolled out to even the workload.

We have to find a way to use our superior depth- this may not be the only or best option but it's an option.

There is no way Trotz is demoting Legwand for one bad game. If anything, it's a promotion of Yip and Hali.

wow.... sounds like Legwand is reaping the rewards of suckitude and stupidity and Spaling is being rewarded for hustle and tenacity

lets hope Poile was right and Spals really is top 6 material

I thought Legs had a great game 1, maybe this is Trotz saying "that's what we expect from you." Maybe practicing with the scrubs will make him realize that. I like it. Now is not the time to worry about people's feelings.

Klein getting a lot of play on NHL Network. Got 3rd and 2nd best play of the weekend out of 10. Also had a nice 5 min interview they loved the mohawk.
It was also mentioned on a series update that the Red Wings have a ping pong table that is located inbetween the Red Wings and Visitors locker room. The preds players wanted to play some ping pong and Bertuzzi and some others said no and told them to bring their own ping pong table... lol are you serious?
Wings continue to lose my respect as the days go by.

Ping Pong tables cost what, like $300 bucks? Weber should buy one and put it in the visitors locker room with a Preds logo decal and then donate it to local Detroit kids organization.

No ping pong?

Now THAT is crossing the line. The Preds are going to put a beating on the Wings tomorrow that will be SO EPIC that the NHL just decides to end the series at 3-1 out of pity for Detroit and their fans.

Should have let them play ping pong, they get what they deserve now.

Weber should buy a $2,500 ping pong table. That way if someone asks him why he spent so much on a ping pong table he can shrug and say, "$2,500 is nothin'"

He threw a punch but the baby ducked. Shanahan called it "a glancing blow"

Regular Season coasting
Sergei
Klein

The interesting question guys for me will be Andrei, Gaustad and Suter. The first two for obvious reasons that having them kick it up a notch would be HUGE for this team. Suter because it seems like he's been coasting for a while, he's shown he can step up when it matters (Olympics), so what is his attitude/mindset going into the playoffs this season? Does he give it his all and be the world-class leading defenseman he can be or is he looking past the season and his big payday?
Looks like your prediction is a little off...lol

What about switching Andrei and Sergei? Sergei is just not doing very much out there. He's easily knocked off the puck, passes up shots (Sunday's goal being the exception) and when he passes, they have been fancy dancy drop passes or passes that go righ to the other team. Andrei seems to be able to actually put on body on people and likes to shoot.

Don"t understand why our guys keep trying the long pass through the middle. It isn't working and usually leads to a rush the other way. Short, quick stick to stick passes would be nice to see and maybe even help us hang on to the puck a little longer.
