Alright I was watching the City Hall arena presentation last night and Labeaume said that they at least want to keep the entrance but to do so it would have to be taken down and rebuild. And if they rebuild it, it may take some modifications to go along with the size of the arena, etc...

what an incredible building, I hope they do find some way to keep the facade.

Cool rink, but are the fans in the upper deck going to be entering from behind the top of the seating area as opposed to under it? That would be pretty rare in arenas these days.

They are explained that even that entrance is not the original entrance since it was rebuild a while ago. They say the risk of everything collapsing during excavation work is too high to keep it's current form.

Some people have advanced they might chose to rebuild the two towers only. Another technical difficulty is that the current entrance would not fit with the overall concept of a single but huge entrance to the arena.

In the old Colisée upper deck entrances are behind the last row, so we're entering from top.

It's certainly a nice selling point.

The Club seems to be in the Center Reds (Bell centre) instead of between the 2 graphic rings (glass concourse). I think that the price of these tickets will be as delicious (300+$? ) as the free food.

The planners told that there will be 2 bunker suites (Pittsburgh have one). They surely will be on each side of the glass passage for the players. I wonder if the people of those suites will be seated in club seats or in the corner "reds".

On the 6 players beach seats, I wonder what will be the price (maybe high and not available for public) and what will be the seating/security. Will they make them sign a document to don't press charges after the arena?

In many respects this could be the first "retro" hockey arena with their non conventional fan enterances, view of the players entering the playing area, and panaromic view of arena as a whole.

Ironnically there are a few comparables here to the Montreal Forum.

i actually question the wisdom of exposing the concourse all the way around...it is a nice feature visually, but it makes the upper deck seats quite a bit farther from the playing surface.

how many suites?...i couldnt find that in the pdf....only suite seat count.

If only the arena was located in Canada and primarily in use during the winter months...

86, but that was announced in 2010, I still believe they will stick with that.

Does the fact that the people in Markham think they can build their rink for $300 million make you feel differently about the municiple and provincial governments spending $400 million for the Quebec City Arena?

To put it simple, NO.

Here is what i answered on another thread.

Other than that, nothing changes.

If 100$m can help boost our chances of getting a team, I'd say no but I would of wished that Quebecor and some partners could of done a lot more than just 30$m. Mayor Labeaume is really giving all that he can so that the Nordiques will come back, he could of been more conservative in his approach but I bet there's not a day that passes by where he doesn't dream of getting a team back. Therefore pushing the envelope on the matter.

We could of done just like Winnipeg and get ourselves the minimum required building capacity and features but that would of probably of delayed his dream becoming true.

Just to point out that the ''J'ai ma place'' model and the model the city introduced last week are not the same models. So those links are kinda outdated.

So after looking for a ******* chart for 20 minutes I got the info.

Suites of 12 (Salons corp.1) 57 units
Suites of 18 (Salons corp.1) 10 units
Suites of 24 (Salons corp.1) 1 unit

Bunker suite local team 1 unit
Bunker suite visiting team 1 unit

Suites of 18 (Salons corp.2) 6 units
Party suites 24 seats (Salons corp.2) 4 units

lodges (Salons corp.2) 64 units

- the 64 lodges are marked to be 1m2 (1 meter square) which is way too small for only one person, they'll probably change that number in the future.

fulll capacity: 1140

total suites number: 80 + (64) = (144)

80 for the moment.

I got the same count after looking at plans. It's kinda weird/hard to figure it out since they have them on two stories and superposed.

This is the only exterior rendering that I could find.
