id would definitely mull that move over from torontos perspective. having 2 high seconds can parlay into another first or sit tight and get 2 players your want. i still think schenn will be a very good shutdown defenceman. most people right him off at 22 which is pretty unfair

I'd give up a mid-first round pick from Ottawa's perspective in exchange for Schenn and a 3rd.

Would have to wait till draft day and see who the first two picks are.
We know Yak will go 1st. If Gregs goes 2nd then i pass on the offer.
Habs need a center and we will pick Gally.
Now If the Jackets pick a D-man than I would consider doing the trade because i'm sure that the Islanders take a d-man with their pick. That leaves us with the center that the Leafs didn't pick,Grigs or Gally.
Habs top priorty is to draft one of Grigs or Gally.

The Islanders are going BPA no matter if its a forward or defencemen. We have needs all over the roster.

Hes not goin anywhere until hes had at least a year under Carlyle.

Wilson's "system" ate defenseman alive. I foresee a much improved Schenn under Carlyle.

A week, a month, a year. Does it really matter?

I think we'll see Schenn on his way out, for one reason or another.

Look at all the first round D drafted after Schenn in his draft......almost all of them are better, or valued more

Schenn would fill a need with the Habs but I doubt they would deal with Montreal
our 2nd round draft choice and Webber or Diaz would be fair I think

Make that a first rounder and I might consider it. Love Clutterbuck but he really isnt a 3rd liner.

Nope. Minnesota's 1st round is going to be probably top 10 next year as well...if not a little short.

Clutterbuck is on a very good contract and can pot 20-20 a year. Maybe even 20-30 if he's having a good season. Plus he's usually in the top 10 for hits. Solid third liner, adequate 2nd liner.

If our 1st is involved, so would be Toronto's.

Like Clutterbuck + 2013 first for Schenn + 2013 Toronto first.

Sorry no way at all.

Schenn > Clutterbuck by a mile and you want us to exchange firsts? no.

You want schenn for clutterbuck you include your first. Perhaps we can throw in a non first pick, or a prospect but our firsts are off the table. We are giving up the better player here.

Tyson Barrie + 41st over all..

Its funny because as of right now it's fair to almost over payment but its almost like a draft pick with the amount of uncertainty that surround the kid. He needs a change of scenery to at least see if he is a bust or not.

With the logjam we have I wouldnt mind having tyson Barrie, however the 41st overall isnt a good enough sweetener IMHO.

I would ask that you try to acquire a 20-25th overall and then maybe I consider it. Barrie could be a gardiner like pickup, or he could be another lashoff/hickey. Schenn is one of the league leaders for hits by a defenseman and a former #5 overall.

What would I OFFER? not nearly as much as the Leafs (especially their fans) would want I'm guessing...

2012 second + 2013 second + mid-tier prospect

is what I would offer... not what would get the deal done in all likelihood
