You want a top 6 winger and a shutdown d-man?

...David Booth+Aaron Rome?

Roy/Stafford + McNabb/Brennan/Pysyk

Buffalo still wouldn't have a true #1 C, but we would have 3 #2's.

Please trade Staal for Ignila. Ignila has too much character to resign with the Pens in a year. Signed, Flyers fan.

A. The player does not exist.
B. What is that proposal?

However the few potential players I'd be interested in are likely untouchable. Other than perhaps SJ (who I don't think need another center), Winnipeg or Washington can really afford to move these Dmen. Then how much interest is there in Staal (a center) coming back. Nashville already has two expensive centers in Fisher/Legwand. Same with Chicago (not that we could actually get Seabrook).

But unless you're getting a great Dman coming back, it would be easier to move him for a goal scoring forward to play with Sid.

These are the sort of players I'd be looking at. We'd most likely have to add depending on who we're talking about.

Weber - not sure how these teams are as trade partners
Suter (as a pending UFA doesn't make sense unless an extension is signed)
Burns - not sure how these teams are as trade partners
Seabrook - not sure how these teams are as trade partners
Bogosian
Girardi
M Staal
Hedman
Myers
Cowen
Alzner
SJ doesn't need Staal (Thornton is the shutdown center) and there is no way in hell they're trading 6 years of Burns for a year of Staal. Burns has been our best player this playoff besides JT.

Are you really a Sabres fan? Pominville is exactly the type of player that the Penguins need, and then add to that?

Staal for the no.6 pick
would Pens bite?
Would Anaheim?

It's pointless to discuss Ryan for Staal it's been done many times

From Allan Robinson's twitter.

With the Pens on the brink of elimination and not making it past the 2nd round three years in a row, changes are likely.

Staal has one year left at a 4 mil caphit. It's not farfetched to think Staal will wait until next summer's free agency to see what teams will offer him. My guess would be much more than we can afford.

What would you offer for him if he's made available this summer?

Top 6 RW or top 4 Shutdown D-man. We're looking to retool, not rebuild with a package of futures.
Wow We in need of a top line center. How about the 3rd overall pick for Staal?
If not how much more do we need to add . 3rd overall ++

1. Just because Staal is getting tired of being a third line center, doesn't mean Pittsburgh is going to trade him.

2. I don't get why he would want to go to Anaheim. Won't the whole point of Staal leaving Pittsburgh would be to not play behind a center like Getzlaf?

3. The Sabres trading Pominville for Staal doesn't make sense, when you consider Pominville and Staal together would make for an elite two way line.

how about
Roy
Stafford or Armia
Leopold or McNabb
Nashville's 1st

the problem is, Staal only has one year left on his deal. Pens management should've seen this coming and traded Staal last year. Now his trade value is not as high as there is a risk of Staal walking away after one season.

No Staal is a #2 pick, so you would need a higher pick. Maybe Ryan + Palmieri for Staal + Tangradi

Staal not worth the 3rd. He is not signed and not offensive enough to be elite first line center. Not a future star like Galchenyuk, keep the pick. Gal under team control for at least 8 years.

Who the hell is Alan Robinson and does he have reliable sources?

I would be very intrigued by a deal centered around Staal and Gorges but that would be contingent on what we could do with Martin and possibly Orpik.

Staal is worth the 3 overall easily. Big two way center who can slot in top 6 or even #1 slot. I just would rather keep the pick.

No way would the Pens consider moving Staal for futures.

Staal for #1 overall? What would need to be added for both teams to go for it?

If he were available this summer, I imagine Burke would be all over it. Fits exactly what he's been looking for since he become GM of the Leafs. Seems to be coming into his own a bit this season with more opportunity in a top-six role.

He'd earn huge bonus points with Don Cherry too

If the Pens were willing to move Staal for a pick, i'd suspect that the Habs would be willing to move their #3 for him.

Something around Staal for Ryan makes some sense i'd think.

From Allan Robinson's twitter.
To say "a lot cities" is a big stretch. He's not a good enough playmaker and lacks the ice-vision to be a legit #1 center. Sure, there are some teams thin down the middle where he could fill that role but he's better suited to a 2C regardless of how he hay may see himself. He could get a nice return but but he's getting way overvalued with some of these proposals.
