yeah, at the beginning of the season I thought Jake was the next TJ Gorence, skate around everyone with that one patented move then slam it into the goalies pads up against the post....lol. For you young bucks I know you have know idea who I'm talking about but the old-timers do and probably just had a flashback and a chuckle

He's a RFA after this season. If he signs something long term (more than 1 or 2 years) what do you think he'll get? The Flyers set the bar pretty high by giving JvR a pretty hefty contract after underachieving for all but 3 weeks. I'd rather have Voracek but what will he get? He's already been in the league for 5 years by my count so is he a RFA for the next 2 and a UFA after that?

3-3.25 for 2-3 mor per, like giroux's last contract sort of. Jagr might be gone, freeing up the $$

If jake is getting 3-3.25 then I'd think it would be pretty impossible to resign Jagr unless he'd be willing to take a significant pay cut. I'm talking like a .900 cap hit.

Especially if we have any hopes of upgrading the D in the offseason.

Does anyone else see Meszaros probably being moved in order to take a run at Suter?

After reading Kerry Fraser's comments, I have to agree to what he stated.
With one caveat, in the last 5-10 years the quality of the officiating has
dropped off considerably. As a hockey fan in general, I was disheartened
by the events on Sunday. Sure as a Flyers fan it was great entertainment
and that part I enjoyed tremendously. I have seen worse games as far
as antics that were played out i.e. Flyers hockey in the 70s. But there
was something different then as opposed to now. Maybe I am old geezer
now, but there seemed more fair play back then. You went toe to toe
with your opponent. Now you sneak up on a player and attack him hoping
you take him out of the game. Just my perception.

HOWEVER, I watched the game with my 8 year old grandson and my
15 year old granddaughter. Maybe it is generational, but they were
appalled by the violence. My 15 year old is a champion swimmer and
captain of her team. She is also a lacrosse player that plays very hard
but she knows when something is amiss when a player attacks a player
like Neal did on Couterier.

She matter of factly said, " You know PopPop they should have a NC-17
sign at the start of a hockey game" .

I never thought of it that way. Maybe she is right. Hopefully the league
will see the light and change.

When Crosby slashed away at Bryzgalov, wasn't it Giroux that was the first guy on him? Voracek got tangled up with Sullivan iirc.
