I dont see a jump from Schenn at all. I'm not crying, just want to protect our players from dirty plays by a team that has little to lose.
Man, Schenn jumps through his hit on Martin.... I am not one advocate of the Neal hits, however I feel that the way Neal bounced off of couturier(?) that he was trying to avoid him. The Giroux one looks way worse because of how Giroux fell after. That looked very bad, but he is also how much bigger then giroux? so following through a hit when Giroux has his body lowered is going to impact the head many times.
I hope Neal only gets two fines, but I would not be upset (as a hockey fan) if he got 1-3 games. As a pens fan I would be devastated.

that's the problem I have with the hit he attempted on Giroux...he is taller and yet he still left his feet to hit him while he already made a B-line charge at him. I think he should be suspended but I don't believe he will because that would be 3 penguins suspended for game 4 because I don't see Asham getting off.
Asham will get 4 games and Neal will get 1 game and a $2500 fine. I would be happy if he got 2 games. The fine is a joke, Hall get the automatic 1 game for 3rd man in and blasma get a 10 grand fine for standing on the bench. Neal will get less punishment than his coach.
I will find these decisions intersting as they have been described as the "spawn" of all the playoff outbursts. My hope is that Shanahan doesn't hide the recklessness of Neals actions behind the ruling on Asham. Neal is also a repeat offender, who targeted two players he should get 2 games . I could care less about Asham .

The NHL Tonight guys consensously believe he will get multiple games, we shall see. He deserves 3, two terrible hits out of anger and a history, personally I'd like to see him with no suspension and deal with Rinaldo and Simmonds

Martin was still playing the puck and was facing Schenn.
Couturier wasn't playing the puck and wasn't even facing Neal.
I wonder how much they really have to go through in this case? Show proof of priar history, and his actions in the series. Then say, ok X-fine and X-suspension. Seems like 20 minutes to me.

Neal hired Attorney Mark Geragos, whom was late to the hearing.

The Flyers need to focus on finishing this series tomorrow and resting up for the next series, not attempting any payback that might end up in suspensions on our side. Payback can wait for next season, Neal just signed an extension.
In keeping with the leagues policy of catering to the penguins they're having the hearing on the ice during a water break.
Lol... Well I'd expect the hearing to be in Philly, since there's two of them and there's a game tomorrow... But that could suggest Neal plays tomorrow.

I'd rather not have Simmonds suspended for 5 games of the second round, thanks.
Rinaldo. Meh. That's fine. JVR will be ready anyway.

You think a 10 day rest is good in the playoffs? I think the flyers fan afford to let one go to get revenge, that's just me... Besides Giroux needs extra games to pad his stats for the conn smythe

Suspended for what? You're allowed to beat on someone, instigator only, if Neal turtles let off, he's embarrassed all the same on national TV. I'm not suggesting that he pulls a Carkner or an Asham

You win every possible game in the playoffs. If the Flyers advance, it's not like either second round opponent won't offer completely different strategies to gameplan for than this series. Boston and the Rangers actually play defense, so the the FLyers will need to adjust theirs to compensate.

I guess my point is, if the league refuses to do anything, and Neal takes another run at a Flyers player, a Carkner or Asham is inevitable--and I'd rather the Flyers not end up short-handed for the second round (assuming they advance, and advance quickly).
At some point, someone is going to do something in the playoffs this year that is going to draw a major suspension. It's trending that way. I don't think anyone denies that. I'd rather it not be a Flyer.
