If this deal goes through, it could be a precursor deal.

Let's say we're dealing for Bertuzzi and the asking price is Ribeiro + Zednik, that would leave us a forward short. That spot could be filled with Asham.

Otherwise, he could probably replace Perezhogin on the Ribeiro + Kovalev line and add some grit to the line.

Asham would be a nice add.

I doubt Aaron can keep up with Ribs and Kovy.

he is not a big guy, but he has a lot of use as a two way scrappy player. put him on a line with begin, that would make a strong line for us

Asham has wheels. His main downside is that he doesn't have a lot of hockey sense.

With the Isles, he was playing with Yashin.

ugh

I'd prefer, oh I dunno, a top line scorer... seeing as we CAN afford it.

Right you are

Well I guess we know who did the back-checking on that line!

Hey, I don't make stuff up. I don't hide behind a fake name to cover my butt.

It was Luc Gelinas talking on the phone from Boston about the latest happenings, the in-studio host (Name?) asked him if there were any rumors around the team, and Gelinas said that it was said Arron Asham had told people he was headed to Montreal.

About half an hour ago. I don't know if they'll re-run that particular segment since RIS is pretty much live right now.

I really don't think that Arron Asham will bring anything to the table. We have some grit now with Downey, Murray, Begin, Simpson, Souray, Komi.

But we have skirted past our two issues, a power forward with soft hands and a top 4 dman.

I would love IT if Gainey would talk to Phoenix about Doan.

Yes Doan would be the best player available today. IMO.

Asham > Begin, Murray, Downey...

He have grit, speed, he can fight and play hockey! He's the kind of player that you need for a playoff run. He would be first with us for the hits : 161! Oh well, I dont think Islanders would trade him to us..

You can listen to it yourself if you tune in to RIS now, and wait for the next 30 minute news roll, it is at the start of it.

I'd take Aaron Asham back on this team any ****in' day!

I wish we had never traded him, he's small, but built like a tank, he can chip in offensively and hits everything that moves, he can drop the gloves if he has too + he's a right handed shot, something we so desperately need.

I hope this is true
