Wolski has already served his purpose. He's been worth a third round pick and then some.

Having said that, I've been eagerly awaiting Smithson's addition to the lineup. He just seems like the type of player that shines in the grittier style of postseason play.

Wolski is a knight of summer, and winter is coming...

im sorry ATF i follow game of thrones on tv but after being a diehard spartacus and dexter fan i find game of thrones to be so inexplicably boring.

What pisses me off it has so much potential for war, wreckage, and gore but instead focuses on a dwarf's feelings.

I keep watching because i keep hoping that one day the show will turn into lord of the rings with wreckage on all sides, tons of war, etc.

OMG, a Rattrick sighting!

Oh, and I don't even think Wolski should be brought back for 1mil. I would rather keep Sammy as he is too important to our PP and has shown so far in the playoffs how well he can play. Another couple of games like the ones he's had and Tallon won't hesitate in re-signing Sammy which in turn would leave Wolski out the door.

That's fine, but it shouldn't excuse them from the regular season. I mean, we have to play the regular season before we get to the playoffs, so you'd hope he'd be useful. If it comes down to Sammy/Wolski during the regular season, well, I think that's a very close call. Sammy is proving his worth in the playoffs though, for sure. I just don't think Wolski is all that bad at all.

WE are on the same page. Id like o resign both, with Sammy being the more important one.

But please dont underestimate Wolski's importance in getting us in this year, and what a few SO wins could mean next yr.

I could careless if you bury wolski on the 4th line next season. But we need him in the SO.
Burying him on the fourth line isn't an answer, look at our current fourth line and checking lines on the playoff teams, Wolski isn't that sort of player. Maybe he can do something on the third with Goc or Matthias, but we need a fourth like made up of sound checking liners.

There are other guys out there who are just as good if not better than Wolski. Why not get a guy who can help us get those important wins in the shootout during the season and won't be scratched in the playoffs. If there are no other guys then I would say sign him. I liked Wolski in the past, I just think he could be a great player if he really wanted to be.

As for the Game Of Thrones... we're in the calm before the storm.

Great series, even better books.

I'd take Garrison back over Samuelsson & Wolski, that's for sure. He's our 2nd best defensive guy AND our 2nd best offensive guy. He's Shea Weber lite, but can be had for millions less.

There's not room enough for Sammy and Wolski. In the end there can only be one.

too much calm not enough storm. When the storm gets here it better be the size of the red dot on jupiter to make up for the calm.

I agree and that guy would be Samuelsson to me. Win the games in regulation and hope Huberdeau can take Wolski's spot in the SO.

Stanley Cups are won by teams that have the best and toughest third and fourth lines. Wolski is not a third or fourth line player. If he can't make the top two lines he has no business on this team. Anyone seen Michael Frolik lately?

Yeah, wait a few episodes, there's gonna be lots of battle scenes.

Hey, whats up RT. Yeah, i really dont want to lose Garrison but if he holds out for too much then I'd rather have Sammy and another d-man like Carle or Oduya. It'd be better than re-signing Garrison but having a horrible top 6. Man, I wish we could spend like some other teams. We could have a great team.

where is this philosophy coming from? I thought viner was committed to building a winner and he would naturally have to spend more to get more.

Yup, my thoughts exactly.

Exactly, Wolski isn't the type of player who can make your bottom six better. When he hasn't been playing in our top 6 he hasn't been that good at all. He's still very creative, but if he's not playing with skilled players then he's not going to put up points.

What's up man? Missed your insight. I agree that if Garrison wants too much we'd have to let him walk. How much do you think he's going to ask for? Am I crazy to think that if we can get him for like $4 million we should try to keep him? Haven't been around much to see what the general consensus is.

I think our top 6 with Jonathan Huberdeau and Samuelsson would be much better than it was this year and then rely on the infusion of our prospects of the years.

Definitely agree with the bolded part of your statement. If we have to see Garrison go and still not bring in anybody on offense, this team will basically be a product of "what could have been".
