Maybe you guys could tell me what my best choice is, mostly to game on. Also don't really care about the different prices, just wondering whats the most bang for my buck i will get.
Not the acer, it's running motherboard video.

Either of the HPs would be fine (as much as I know you're avoiding for quality reasons).

I've pretty much just said **** it. My bro didn't take care of his really at all and that's why hes having so many problems with it. My dad also talked with some guy at work, who is like a computer fanatic on the side and also is a computer programmer on the side, and said it doesn't matter to much about the brand , its mostly about the Processor, and Graphics card.

http://www.logicbuy.com/deals/Coupon...ook/11471.aspx

Go to the HP website, only upgrade the GPU to the 2GB option. Put in the coupon code. Comes out to $861 or so. Core i7, 8gb RAM, 2gb discrete GPU and 17 inches. Boom.

Stay the hell away from the 6770M. You don't want 'switchable' graphics, you want a discrete (meaning its own card) solution. I have the same chip in my Envy 15 and the thing is a total POS. Doesn't even run basic games and there's no fan so it overheats quickly.

I'm actually thinking of buying these right now and have them for when I do have my comp, but I've heard great things about Patriot memory and with the promo code, it's $81 for 16GB (4x4GB) of DDR3-1600.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820220629

Worth every penny?

Probably. I've used Patriot memory and it always did fine. Not the first brand on my list but not the last either.

But @ $81 that makes it the cheapest 16gb kit on newegg anyway in 1600mhz. So yeah why not.

I'd probably still stick with 8GB these days though. Can't see the point in 16gb since it's so cheap you can upgrade easily anyway if needed.

Actually Newegg has a promo code that ends today where ALL RAM is 15% off. So it came out to $76.49 with free shipping. Bought that *****. Want me to post the promo code?

EMCNFJG38

Ends the 15th. So do it now if you want RAM for cheap.

When I was younger, I thought Patriot was the only brand of RAM worth getting because their name was the only one that sounded cool.

as far as ram goes, i'm currently running these ...

http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16820231461

they're alright. low volts which i thought was cool ...eventhough it probably doesn't matter much.

and also low profile, so my Noctua heatsink/cooler clears them easily ...which was part of the selling point for me.

some of the heat spreaders on the Corsair sticks, etc, are too long ...and if u have a big CPU cooler, they can get in the way.

The Corsair ones I picked up for my new build are low-profile:

God ****ing damnit, why is it so hard to get a GTX 680? The 7970 didn't have this many shortages (if ever) and uses the same die size. I guess it's because everyone realizes that the 680 is at least as good, if not better than the 7970 yet cheaper?

More like they rushed to market without adequate supply to compete with AMD in the PR battle. Which is probably why AMD hasn't cut their prices yet. They are competing with a non existent card.

Well I have mine.

Sadly I'm still waiting for intel to launch IB.

Well done... I was about to post that Newegg sent me an update saying they had stock.

Too bad NCIX had stock quicker.
