Germany, Latvia and Russia will all have 6 pts. According to IIHF, if 3 teams are even, then the goal differential between the teams mutual games will decide the order. So it would be:

Russia dosnt leave the subgroup, you take the best GD for all countries in direct matches. That leaves us with the worst meaning we are off to relegation with 3pts.

Predictable low-scoring affair with Dansk and Vasilevski in goal. Good win.
Better Dansk than Vasilevski, unfortunately for Russia. Russia has some pretty good forwards, most notably Nichuskin, Yakimov and Barabanov (Slepyshev has looked very average during this tournament), but the defense is as usual weak and slow. When you have a below average defense, you need stellar goaltending as an offset. Vasilevski seems well off his game since the WJC in Calgary. He should have been the difference against Germany, but he seemed to be a big part of the problem. Maybe they were'nt his fault (the first goal the Swedish forward was let in alone), but his failure to make big saves resulted in the team being down 2 goals to Sweden 8 minutes into the game. Against Sweden, who plays so well on defense, that proved to be too much. Now they have to look forward to Canada. They need more from Vasilevski among others.

This answers the question from Zorz who wondered why the Russian coach didn't pull the goalie at the end of the RUS-GER game. I didn't know the rule at the time, but the fact is that Parfyonov's decision not to pull the goalie maintained the goal differential for Russia's losses at 2, thereby allowing Russia to finish ahead of Latvia and Germany.
Russia was actually pretty good 5 on 5, they took quite a lot of penalties though. Not sure who the favorite is going to be in their quarterfinal, I think they could raise their level significantly.
