Phoenix Coyotes goaltender Mike Smith will play Tuesday in Game 3 against the Chicago Blackhawks at the United Center, Darren Dreger of TSN's Hockey Insider reports.
I'm hoping he's back to normal, and we take this game to regain home ice advantage.

My random guess:
Whiplash
Quote:
Symptoms reported by sufferers include: pain and aching to the neck and back, referred pain to the shoulders, sensory disturbance (such as pins and needles) to the arms & legs and headaches. Symptoms can appear directly after the injury, but often are not felt until days afterwards.[3] Whiplash is usually confined to the spinal cord, and the most common areas of the spinal cord affected by whiplash are the neck, and the mid-back (middle of the spine).
This was my first thought when I heard he missed practice. I had whiplash after getting in a wreck and didn't feel like anything was wrong for several hours afterwards. Once it kicked in though I could barely move my neck for a few days. I wouldn't be surprised if Smith had something of the sort.
I'm still feeling pretty down about the last game. Taking much longer than usual to shake it. A loss tonight could put me in a tailspin. Gotta find a way to win it and get back on the plus side of this series.
Wake up just over an hour before the game, read Shaw's been suspended 3 games, read the humongous big butthurt on the main boards. It has been a pleasant start to the day.
Now for the 'Yotes to go out there and destroy some *****es.

I envy you, I've been waiting since 9am for this game to start. I can't hold out much longer.
Tonight would be a good night for Vrbata's road goal scoring prowess to show up. Need to limit the Hawks time in our zone, especially in the last 2 minutes.
