This might be a major case of be careful what you wish for. With DW's copycat ways, we could turn into a defense-first group of grinders as soon as next season.
I hope DW copies those teams by hiring someone who can coach the PK next season!
the hawks/yotes games have been really exciting to me.
i watched the torres hit a couple of time. its a bad charge, but he definitely didnt aim for the head as most of the contact seems into the chest. he has a history, but that history imo should only come into play if its determined a "dirty" hit. it shouldnt color shanahans opinion prior to his ruling. refs missed it, as it was definitely a charge, but i just think it was a "big" hit.
I know it's bad form to talk about this given the Sharks' odds of making it out of the first round, but I can't help but think that I'd want Chicago to win this series if the Sharks do advance, given that I think LA and Nashville wins are likely. I'd much rather face Chicago than another defensive team in Nashville in the next round.
i keep finding myself cheering for the yotes. but in my brain i know a chicago series is a better matchup. who knows.
I can't cheer for any team with Raffi Torres on it and I my stomach can't handle even the remote possibility of a Kings-Coyotes WCF. Not because I hate either team, just because I think it would be bad for ratings and the sport in general. I'd like at least one big name team to stay in the mix and it looks like Chicago has the best chance.
Preds-Kings-Blues-Yotes in the semi's? What's on HBO...
Torres should get 5. The guy is a repeat offender, he does it every single year in the playoffs. He claims they're just hockey plays but his intention is to injure. We all remember Torres on Michalek.
Honestly, with all the controversy surrounding violence this playoffs, I could see the NHL slapping him with a very long suspension just to prove that they haven't lost control of the game.
Joseph Beare @jrbeare
@PollakOnSharks After he was traded to MTL, Josh Gorges told me, unequivocally, the Torres/Michalek hit was what lost them the 06 series.
wow. I know we all would agree on that, but its just interesting to hear a player agree too.

Just pisses me off more to know that the team didnt react and the team didnt have the guts to push through it. We all realized they were physically and mentally soft through those years but that just proves it.
