you can't expect a goal scorer to get his game back if you're going to put him on the 4th line. If you want JVR to find his game, you put him where he excelled the most before his injury and that's on a scoring line
We roll four lines. So he would get decent minutes no matter what line he is on. I have not been happy with his game all year but would welcome him back in the lineup. Saying that, I would sit Zack. He is a marked man and if he farts on the bench the refs are going to give him two minutes. But you have to marvel at the job Homer has done with this team. With all the injuries we have had and to see how this team has responded and played together is really something. Even the entire NHL is taking notice of the job he has done. He without a doubt is one of the top GM's on the league. Well done Homer.
If JvR is ready to play around 10 minutes or so, I say put him in the lineup. A "4th" line of JvR-Read-Voracek wouldn't be too bad. (Or, if you wanna risk messing with chemistry a bit... get Schenn to center where he belongs).
Watching videos of JVR has really got me pumped up for his return. It's a shame there were so many rumors of him being traded and all of his injuries on top of that... When he is at 100%, he is a game changer. Someone the other team has to fear when he has the puck. If he is indeed back to where he was last playoffs... holy **** am I excited!
I really hope he just comes back 100%. If we can make it past the Pens, I expect our next opponent to be really tough and having JVR in playoff beastmode like last year combined with our already impressive offense would really help us push past Rags or Bruins
Ya after watching Rinaldo not do anything for the team 4 whole games, I think if JVR is 100% healthy you play him the next game. I just dont want to risk him getting hurt.
I don't think laviolette really has a choice but to get Jvr into the next game. Rinaldo has done nothing but hurt this team, and he'll most likely be suspended for at least the next game anyway.
he has to come out. A guy with a short fuse in a series thats going to get called tight. Not a good combo.
Put JVR in there. Even a rusty JVR is more valuable then a healthy Rinaldo at this point.
I'd like to retract my previous statement in this thread. After last night, Rinaldo needs to sit out for JvR and quick. JvR is just another player they'll have to worry about.
Time to unleash another playoff monster, or atleast I hope he'll show up to be even close to how he played in last years playoffs. The kid can, all he needs is at his disposal, just hopes he grasps it rather then take advantage of it.
