Bruins Fan here. Wishing Hossa the best.

Players like Torres are not just hurting other players, they are hurting the game we love.

Anything less than the rest of the playoffs and a sit down a la Cooke where he is told he is done in the NHL if he gets suspended again is a disgrace. I was there. 21,500 looking for blood, never been a part of anything like that. Refs were OUT OF CONTROL, also need to be done for the playoffs at the very least.

Yup, this entire officiating crew has been inexplicably terrible all series and last night was just icing on the cake.

One blown call that influences the way a game goes is bad luck. This series has had 4 or 5 huge calls that directly impacted the final score. I don't blame people for thinking something is up.

How the **** do we come out of that shorthanded? Hossa wasn't even moving, the medical staff kept pushing his leg up and it just flopped back down. They kept doing it and all I could think was a spinal issue. I guess he was just out cold but christ, for a bit of time there, nobody there knew if Hossa would play again. Coyote power play. Move them to Quebec, NHL should not have a hand in a team, it's unethical.

Bruins fan here...
I saw that hit. Terrible.

I hope Hossa will be OK.

Torres is an idiot and shouldn't be allowed on the ice again.

I think he gets 3 games MIN for his history which will certainly include a certain hit behind the net last year.

I can only hope justice is finally served on this tool.

Hope you guys get Hossa back asap.

One can only hope. All the buzz on twitter is relatively positive so that's definitely good.

Love your sig, btw.

From a die-hard Blues fan, I hope Hossa is ok. I hate seeing hits like this. It seems that in every series, there is head-hunting going on. I am tired of it. This is where the NHL has to make a stand. This has to be a minimum of 15 games in my opinion. Torres is a piece of trash that has a history of these kinds of hits. He just took out one of the Hawks best players. Even if Torres is suspended long term, the Hawks are greatly short-handed now.

Exactly. WTF do the yote's care about some bottom 6 plug being gone if they don't have to worry about hossa?

Whats to stop the hawks from calling up some plug and just ending yandle? Or ACTUALLY running smith?

If Hossa is out, hopefully nothing stops them from doing just that. Smith is the one though. Just call up SDP, put him out their at forward and tell him to skate through Smith.

So, two years in a row this crap by the same guy threatens not only a player's well being but our season.

Just when you think officiating couldn’t possibly get any worse than what we’ve seen at times this year, this happens in the most important game of the season for Hawks. Q is right when he says the officials are a disgrace (the polite version). These guys have no accountability to speak of and could have just cost the Hawks their season. They all need to be fired.

What are we going to get. Another ****in apology? I doubt even that, this time!

Torres will get at least 8 games. I’d throw the book at him: 20 games and the maximum fine allowed.

TSN did a summary of his cheap shots since last season… and they are all targeting the head, late, predatory, vicious with an obvious intent to injure. He shouldn’t be in the league.

Hossa, thank God, though still under observation at home, seems to be all right.

Seabrook should smash yandle's head into the glass, it'll just be a 2500 dollar fine.

Smash the whole roster into the glass, only costs 50,000 total.

That's part of the problem. The discipline in the NHL is a joke.

A nauseating review of Torres' history:

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sport...rticle2406213/

Quote:
To really wrap your head around just how badly the NHL has missed on disciplining Torres, look no further than his last suspension, for a hit on Minnesota Wild defenceman Nate Prosser that came with a two-game ban in early January.

From Shanahan's own video explanation, only four months ago, for why Torres was suspended after shockingly leaving his feet:

"It is important to note that this was the third game in a row Torres has gotten the attention of the department of player safety for contact to the head. In fact only, hours before the Minnesota game, Torres was fined and warned against such actions. In addition, Torres has been fined for illegal hits twice before in his 10-season NHL career and was suspended nine months ago for a similar play."

Third... game... in a row.
There are also links to his many dirty hits.

Sens fan and Hossa fan coming in peace. I can't believe Hawkes' fans are defending Torres. This hit is the best...well, worst, example of Rule 48 there can be. It was a late hit and he left his feet in order to target the head.

Torres ought to be the first player suspended for an entire season. There is no other way to get the message out. These playoffs have been terrible for this kind of thing.

I don't know what to say... But can any of us really project how long he'll get suspended? I saw Weber take a players head and smash it into the boards in the closing seconds of a game and got nothing for it. Shaw basically ran into a goalie and got 3 games, while we've seen purposeful head shots get less than that. I don't know what to expect for Torres. He should be out of the playoffs, but I'm not calling **** until it happens.
