Brooks Orpik

May be another guy on the trade block in the offseason. Interested to hear what teams would be willing to offer. He's underachieved this season, but can still play a top pairing role and is signed for another 2 years at 3.75 mil per.

Probably still decent value, but he seems to struggle a bit with foot speed and positioning now.

Orpik's footspeed is more than fine. The guy still gets around as well or better than any other physical defensive defenseman.

His reads and hit-chasing, on the other hand...

Foot speed isn't the problem, brain speed is.

Would love him rockin' the motor city. Don't have anything to give for him though.

Oh, I'm sure the Wings have a few prospects that could garner interest from the Pens.

Not saying straight up, but I'd be interested in Tomas Jurco.

Devin Setoguchi+

I'd offer up Brett Bulmer, or a 2nd round pick in this draft(Washington's), or something else. Interested at all, Pens fans?

A late 1st (buffalo owns Nashville's) and something else? What would the Pens want from Buffalo to make it happen?

That's just simply wrong. His skating is still there. I really have no idea why he hasn't been able to find his game this season.

not even close, best case scenario that's the 64th this year, 31-35th next year and 61-65th next year. If Isles improve then it could easily be a middle of the pack 2nd.

Something around Setoguchi could work.

It sucks, isles can't really give up roster players, few have good value and can't give up a first rounder because it's too high.

I've always been a big fan of Orpik, but he's not a top pairing guy anymore, and really shouldn't be if you're a contender. He makes a great 3/4 type paired with a more offensive guy.

I could easily see Stewart being traded in the offseason if Tarasenko decides to cross the pond and the Blues really need a top pairing defensive d-man to put with Pietrangelo. Orpik would be on that short list of candidates of top LHD as well as Despres that could be available so I could definitely see a Blues/Pens trade working out at the draft.

Orpik/Despres - Pietrangelo

Sullivan - Crosby - Stewart

Given our recent defensive woes, the Pens are probably about as likely to move Despres as the Blues are to move Tarasenko.
