Credible media outlets tend to fact check before broadcasting stories, one phone call to the Oilers and Tencer would have known what was up, instead he airs a sensational piece that paints the organization in a poor light.
In what Universe is it Tambellini's fault that Tencer didn't call the Oilers for their side of the story before airing what he did?
Well it still isn't a good thing that Tambo didn't contact Larionov. The two agents thing is weird, but somehow the other lottery teams all contacted Larionov. It's probably not a big deal, but it doesn't seem like they're on the ball.

its a shame all these questions were answered in posts that were removed, the Oiler brass talked to Yakupov's camp on the 4-5 of April, Yakupov has already been into the Oilers dressing room awhile back to meet the guys when the team was out east.
One would think that a players agents would speak to one another, not sure where it's Tambellini's responsibility to contact everyone involved with Nail and then run around letting every one in the world know what his itinerary is on a daily basis. As a GM I'm sure he has other more urgent duties to look after. Especially after the Oil had already started their due diligence with Nail.
What would it take for montreal to get edmontons 1st overall pick and keep their 3rd overall pick?
Also, same scenario but we swap first round pick! What would edmonton ask for to make this happen?
Habs are in bad need of an offensive talent!
My god man, i just put a habs fan in his place in this thread yesterday (and caught him in his own lies)...he came in here claiming he wasnt trolling and was asking us how we felt about Murray playing for team Canada and if it would change our minds about picking Nail....look a couple pages back, he was obviously trolling.
At least your not hiding the fact that you want Yakupov, but if you want to know how Oiler fans feel about taking Yakupov as opposed to trading the pick, just look at the poll numbers (and half of the 'trade down' and 'trade him for other players' options are non-oil fans)...we have NEVER had a unanimous poll like this since i've been on HFBoards, the people have spoken, you can pick whoever is left over between Grigo or Galchenyuk. Your going to get a good player regardless and you have nothing that has the same value as Yakupov, so no deal.
edit: just saw that you also wanted to keep your pick...HAHAHAHAHAHA thats priceless, thanks for the laugh.

If the Habs are willing to trade TWO of Subban, Pacioretty and Price AS WELL AS the 3rd overall pick, the Oilers would have to listen. Doubt Montreal is interested in that much of an overpay though.

Oilers would jump over that deal in an instant I think. I was talking about just two of Subban/Pacioretty/Price. No pick from Montreal included. Basically two of Subban/Pacioretty/Price/3rd overall. I would consider it. I don't think Montreal does though.
Subban and Price are to Montreal what Hall and RNH are to Edmonton. Pac. is a young 30 goal scorer in this league.
Would you trade two of Hall, Eberle, or RNH for the 1st overall pick in this draft? Let's hope Montreal fans don't read this thread!
No I wouldn't. And I wouldn't expect Montreal to either. I didn't say they would make the trade, I said thats what I would ask for. There's no deal to be made there.

That was my point as well. Unlike the Leafs, the Habs do have some attractive pieces. However, the likelihood that they package enough of those pieces to secure the 1st pick is slim-to-none.
Brandon Dubinsky
Chris Kreider
Marc Staal
Dylan McIlrath
Rangers First Rounder
That's the kind of deal Id like to see for this pick. Adds a player who can contribute right now at forward and at D, creates a second-wave of talent that's a year or two away, plus the pick. Adds a lot of difference dimensions (size, experience and skill in Dubinsky; size, speed and upside in Kreider; elitel shutdown ability in Staal; a Teubert-like project in McIlrath) and depth to the organization. Steep price for the Rangers, but is essentially five first-rounders which is about right, IMO.

I think some of us are getting a little carried away with the value of that pick.

The question wasn't "What would Montreal be happy to give up for the #1 overall pick?". It was "What would it take to get the #1 without giving up #3?".
Price or Subban would have to be included, but the Oilers would never give up the top pick for either straight up.

after hearing that Grigorenko went 0-0-0 and a -2 in the final 2 games of the Quebec-Halifax series...
I'm glad we won the lottery
He dropped down to what? 14th in button's recent list?
Not a huge fan of the guy, but he's hearing something. Stauffer recently stated that a scout told him Grig's talent/compete level is comparable to Yashin, not a flattering statement in the slightest.
