Reports on local radio after the game are that Marian Hossa left the hospital under his own power, and is probable to return to the playoff tournament (didn't say how long). He will be listed as day to day.

This is great news, I didn't see him move once the whole time after the hit...was thinking his career might have been over.

I'm glad his career isn't possibly over, but don't mind me rooting for the Coyotes.

Tides have turned a bit eh? I hope the NHL gets this one right though. Torres should at least be gone for the series.

Wasn't that what we gave up Hodgson for?

Yep, we're on the other end of this one...they come out way ahead. They get to trade a 3rd/4th liner for a star player and didn't even have to go on the PK. If Keith got 5 games with a clean record I don't see how Torres gets less with his multiple suspensions.

Thanks Brian Burke.
But can Komisarek do this?

TGfireandice
Anton Volchenkov has been on the ice for 9 of 10 Panther goals in series (6 on PK) . Only goal he wasn't on for was ENG in Game 2.

The more I think about it the more I think Lamoriello is a bad GM.I think he got lazy and thought everything would always fall into place like it did in the 2000s.

He's an old man stuck in the past maybe. Sucks at UFA with the lowered age; still signs one-dimensional slow D to huge contracts

He was an awesome GM under the old rules.

Was he really awesome? letting every single puckmoving D go wasn't all that great the way he handled it , and it hurt the devils a lot and was the beginning of the end for them.

I don't know enough about what he actually did or didn't do to judge.

What puck moving D did he let go before the lockout? Vladimir Malakhov? He did an amazing job of keeping a talented group together for a budget that was probably 30% less than what Detroit or Colorado could afford.

Wow. So much for the best PK ever. Is Volchenkov playing hurt?

Torres suspended indefinitely, hearing Friday with NHLPA there.

Oh, and how have we not mentioned this yet...Bettman was in attendance at the United Center last night. What a game for him to go to...

Devils PK is at 40% against Florida. 6 of 9 Florida goals were on the PP.

Most fans think he's playing hurt. Tom Gulitti, the team's beat writer insisted repeatedly during the game that he didn't think Volchenkov was hurt; he just couldn't handle the panther's mobility.

But then today these were posted:

Quote:
DeBoer admitted Anton Volchenkov has struggle, being on the ice for 9 of Florida's 10 goals. "Volchy came off an injury late in the season..
1m Tom Gulitti Tom Gulitti ‏ @TGfireandice
Quote:
DeBoer admitted that Volchenkov has "another level" and has had some trouble with the Panthers' speed.
Most Devils fans want Volchenkov benched in favor or Larsson, who was benched late in the season after struggling down the stretch

This is regarding the guys who think ATD top seeds may have shorter first round series and that this is relevant to their second round series. They're correct. The Canucks are getting shorter series in both rounds.

Fleury has been brutal again.

But man, this game is a gongshow. 6 goals now in the first period. This series is hilarious! I want it to last forever.

I must think of someone else.

Anyone else see Crosby dive just now? Spinning on ice with his feet in the air like big gliding innuendo...
