Ryan Getzlaf I think Burke will throw everything and the kitchen sink at the Ducks to get his former Captain.

So what would it take to land Getzlaf?

Getzlaf scored 11 goals this year.

He is a big name for sure though.

and alot.. more then Richards, more then Carter.

I don't think Burke will want to pay.

The Ducks are not trading Getzlaf. The need more center depth not to trade away their #1 center.....

He isnt a FA, so he would have to trade for him. Not for sale.

Crazy overpayment, and even still, who trades their #1 center when you are not in a rebuild and Getzlaf Loves California. He isn't leaving.

Want to know the overpayment I am talking about?

How does that look for you?

I think his #1 priority if he owns a house in Toronto he should put it up for sale.

I think a much more suitable target for the Leafs would be Joe Thronton if San Jose really is going in a new direction.

Both are two top priorities, but it's pretty hard to find a #1 center that's available, so I would have to think if one is available, it's highest priority. Plus there might be a decent UFA goalie to sign over the summer.

I hope the Leafs trade their #5 pick plus other stuff for Thorton or Getzlaf. Only to see them decline and that #5 pick be Grigrenko, who ends up ripping it up in the NHL.

Leafs, always thinking they are 1 guy away from a Cup.

San Jose aren't out yet and Joe Thornton comes at a high price if Burke is willing to give up valuable assets.

Joe Colborne is filled with potential, let him play one more season for the Marlies and bring him up as a regular after.

That's the kind of slap in the face that would make life hell for the Ducks come the 2013 free agent season.

It makes me so sick how all these Leafs fans make other Leafs fans look so dumb. Like seriously. What in the hell makes you think Ducks will trade their young C??????? Like do you even think before you make a proposal thread?? probably not...We have a 5th overall pick and the possibility to draft one that has potential to be a number 1 C on this team! Thats the only way this team is going to get a num C!!!!! If it was so easy to trade for one, i think Burke would have done it already!. Num 1 C is the hardest position to get! and don't think cause Leafs are so in need for one, other teams are just going to trade it to us......

Because Burke owns the Ducks in trades remember. Beauchemin is a #6 and Lupul was a PPG guy on the Ducks and Gardiner is the next Bobby Orr.

You're assuming they get to free agency, and they aren't signed to extensions well before they are at risk.

I seriously seriously doubt Getzlaf is leaving. He loves California. He married an Orange County girl.

Perry is the only guy that has not tipped his hand either way. But we know he loves playing with Getzlaf.

Who knows. He needs to dump salary first, salary which likely wouldn't be included in any deal for a prime asset

The Leafs cap issue is the least of your problems when talkign about a #1 center. Especially Getzlaf.
