My point was that if your opinion on a city's safety is going to be so easily swayed, South Dakota is the only place that would be safe enough for you. I'm not sure how someone so worldly could be so closed-minded.

I'm more of a realist. I don't live in a bubble, thinking 'nothing bad will ever happen to me.' I know what is good and bad out there.

I'm sure there are nice places in Chicago, I just choose not to go.

Nobody was giving death threats after the smith hit and folks were saying he was faking it. Just goes to show the class of fans is all.

At least they didn't go all Montreal, and call the police on Torres.

I'd love to see any kind of crime rate data backing your argument, because I just can't find it.

No, it just shows there are less Coyote fans than Hawks.

Anyway, it's like saying that because Nash made a mistake in his original view of the hit, the entire Coyote fan base and Phoenix metro area enjoyed watching Hossa taken out on a stretcher.

Department of State travel warning for US citizens travelling to Mexico. Mexico is dangerous enough for a travel warning.

I just prefer to not put my children in excessive danger. I get warnings like those at work all the time. Until they legalize EVERYTHING and there are not cartels hounding the borders, I'll stick to places I know and trust.

Now show me the one for Chicago.

I've also been to Mexico a few times and saw nothing but beaches and tacos. Like I said, there are nice parts and ugly parts of everything. I live in DC, but I would never take visitors to like, Anacostia.

I like Chicago. Last I heard, Chicago was still part of the US so there is no US Dep't. of State travel warning to show you. However, you are welcome to look up crime statistics. Here's one: Chicago's murder rate up 60% in the last 3 months

When the original incident happened, Nash said he missed the play, then he saw the replay and said it was clean. They did not show which replay Tyson initially saw when he made that comment. IMO, it wasn't a good angle and he didn't see Torres leave the ice (just an initial reaction and not an analysis)...

So 120 people killed in a city of 2,700,000 people. I wonder how many of them were tourists?

My point was never that crime doesn't exist, by the way. Were that the case, doaner would be out of a job. Then how could he afford his vacation to the Great Salt Lake?

Chicago was a fine city when I visited. I know a lot of people that are fans of the Cubs/Hawks/Bulls and have never even been to Chicago. A lot of them are born and raised in Arizona....another issue altogether.

lol...what was the point in linking to this useless statistic? I sincerely hope you're not suggesting Chicago in general is a dangerous city?! Do I need to post that not sure if serious pic again? lol

I wouldn't be surprised if not a single one was a tourist but even if half of them were who the hell cares. When compared to the amount of people who actually visit Chicago it's still a miniscule number. Statistics and probability obviously need to be more of a priority in our education system because a lot of people clearly just don't get it.

Being a high school student, there's about 20 kids a day I see with Bulls hats or shirts. Why? "Because my Grandma is in Chicago mannnn"

Safe to assume then you'll never allow your children to drive?

You mean texting and driving? Or drinking and driving? Yes. I would agree with those two. I'm not going to be one of those parents that gives their kid a phone at 10. That sets them up for failure.

I do hope that some here are not going to go all "azcentral stupid" and start bashing the great city of Chicago, like was done on that forum re: Winnipeg.

LOL @ "azcentral stupid."

Chicago is an awesome city. Makes no sense to trash the city because you don't like how some of its hockey fans are reacting.

This isn't that bad, though. We may have to deploy the National Guard somewhere between Pittsburgh and Philadelphia.

All of the Chicago talk makes we want to go to Luke's in Tucson and get the 2 Chicago Dogs with Fries special or maybe the Italian Beef Sandwich for that matter.

Glad to see Nashy is handling this like a champ and hopefully the police arrest the ******** responsible.
