A value of Ryan Getzlaf to the Leafs thread shouldn't be on the main board? I see those types of threads all the time for other teams.....

Can't see the Ducks trading him after the type of season he just had making his value an all time low, unless it's a dumb overpayment.

Ducks don't seem to have the depth on C to trade him away anyways.

The Leafs also have more holes than just a #1 center. We need to spend $$$ on a goalie. Lombardi, Armstrong, Connolly, Komisarek take up ~25% of Toronto's cap-space and play like negative assets on most nights. We have a problem. Getzlaf isn't even a realistic option

yeah it definitely needs to be goaltending. Having Getzlaf isn't going to matter much without it. A good goalie can hide a lot of your team's problems. I don't know how to get a good one in Toronto though.

Crazy overpayment, and even still, who trades their #1 center when you are not in a rebuild and Getzlaf Loves California. He isn't leaving.

Want to know the overpayment I am talking about?

2012 1st
2013 1st
Gardiner
Grabovski
Colborne

How does that look for you?

It won't take a lot of work to draft Galchenyuk or Grigorenko (if he's still available).

It shouldn't be a thread at all...

Ducks are looking for 2nd line center. You honestly think they are going to move their top center? Give me a break.

Getz isn't going to be traded. Find a new fantasy.

I bet you thought the same about Richards and Carter too

ANA finished 6th last and Getzlaf & Perry are up for new contracts soon. It's not unreasonable to believe they could move him. Stranger things have happened

I think it should be defense, it has been absolutely horrible. There aren't many goaltenders who are going to look very good when they are left hanging by their defense so many times.

It wouldn't be bad if they picked up an excellant goaltender, but I still think they need to improve their team D more than any other area.

If they are going to go after a high priced player maybe they should be thinking about Suter. The Leafs don't have a problem scoring they have a problem keeping the puck out of their net.

They could also benefit from a defensive center who would help their PK.

Leafs should look to get a good number 2 Center that can play the number 1 roll untill Galchenyuk/Grigorenko/Forsberg are ready for the number 1 role which could be this year.

Best Option for the Leafs - make sure you come away with Grigorenko, Galchenyuk, or Forsberg. Stop signing guys that are not gonna work out ie Connolly, and Lombardi... I still Laugh everytime I see what Toronto paid for Tim Connolly...

I thought that's why the big man picked up Connolly???

Steckel was a nice addition as well.

Very true. Great chance to and a couple potential franchise centers in this years draft.

Connolly can't keep up with Kessel. He's fine on the PK, but otherwise would be chasing the play offensively and stuck behind the back-check once Kessel turned the puck over. We need a big-bodied, 2-way center who can skate next to Kessel and Kess will make him look better. Doesn't have to be a true #1. Jordan Staal would be ideal

Are you serious? I thought it was a given Carter was going to be moved. Richards was a surprise though. The situation is entirely different though.

Philly had ridiculous center depth, we have none. Philly was looking to shore up other areas on team (goaltending). Ducks weakest posiion is center.

Murray has stated several times that he would only move a core player if it made the team better NOW and that it won't be for futures. Please, give me a trade from Toronto that makes this happen... There isn't a realistic one. Any player can be traded, but if you use common freaking sense, it's obvious it won't be Getzlaf.

There is zero chance of him being traded in the offseason. If contract talks stall for some reason during season, he may be moved at deadline, but he's made it very clear that he, and especially his wife, want to stay in anaheim. If that's not enough, Getz said it's been hard being a new father and playing pro hockey. You think playing in a large market is going to help that?

So I guess if contract talks stall or he has a change of heart, he may be moved before deadline, but it definitely won't be this offseason. You really think Burke is going to make his number one priority wait until the offseason (based on OP's view)?

Let's be realistic guys...

Jordan isn't really a 1C though, Rather a M.Richards or B.Schenn, huh, when karma bites you in the ..., it sucks
