The 2010 winning Blackhawks needed 6 to beat the Preds.
There is no room for common sense here. Losing means we're the worst team ever.

What gets me is that Anderson is just another mediocre nhl goaltender made to look like a world class net minder. Good job NY Rangers....... Nobody else can do what you do so well.

Having said that, I still think they get this series but only because they have been finding ways all year to win.
Lack of offensive talent. Like I said before, they gotta rethink their draft strategy.

WE ARE NOT THE RED WINGS OR BLACKHAWKS. Those teams actually are able to score goals. Those teams actually have offensive talent up and down their lineup.

True. And last year Vancouver needed 7 games to beat the 8th seed Blackhawks and 6 to beat the Preds

I think we played well in the first and third periods, but our second really was pathetic. We controlled the OT but got scored on a great shot. These things happen!
What irritates me is the lack of production from some so called second liners, are you listening Dubinsky/Stepan!!!!We need to score more than 2 goals to at least have a chance of winning. They better come out flying and set the tempo on Saturday, and score some goals.

good news? seriously? we played one good game in this series.
I don't see any edge for the first place rangers in this series.
this team has no offense...

going on 5 yrs since lockout this franchise can barely score 2g.

question: Who can we beat if we get out of this series?

Haven’t been this disgusted with this team in a loooong time, probably over a year.

1. Where was the effort all night? Really, we get an early 2-0 lead and are trying to defend that all night? That is the gameplan? Disgusting. We played soft, we played slow, and we lacked any sort of compete level. Lost puck battles all over the ice.

2. Hank choked. Say anything you want about it being a good shot, but a Superstar needs to have that.

3. We score 2 goals on the PP by getting the puck to the net…and then spend the rest of our PP time dicking around the perimeter like we have been doing all season. That is coaching and that is terrible coaching.

Unlike last year, if we blow this every single regular season accomplishment is meaningless. Time to get it together fast.

I thought our forwards were lousy. Feds-Boyle-Prust was horrible. Anismov and Stepan were soft all game, Dubi struggled to clear the puck until the 3rd period. Gaborik, Richie, and Cally were quiet after the first 2 PPs, although the Dubi-Richie-Cally line had a few good shifts in the 3rd. Losing Hagelin was a big blow, it's obvious that Torts doesn't trust Kreider right now, he barely plays. Mitchell floated around and was slow to backcheck on Ottawa's first goal. Rupp may have been our best forward, and that's pathetic. The entire forward corps needs to pick it up.
This times a million!

Blaming the effort is a cop out. The Rangers had a bunch of good chances. They blocked a ton of shots.

You guys and protect Henrik all you want, but his career playoff numbers are not level with what he does in the regular season. That's a telltale sign.
The only reason this series isn't 3-1 Ottawa is because Henrik just stopped 40 shots for us to win a 1-0 game last night. We pressed the entire game? The puck was in our zone ALL night. We came out quick, got a lead and than totally lost focus and took our feet off the pedal. You are correct though. If Henrik could just be more consistent and allow 0-1 goal every game, we'd be golden.

I asked this before, please tell me how this is different from Washington 09 and 11? Totally dominated time of possession. And Ottawa isn't half as good as those Washington teams. How did Torts ever win a cup? His teams have been an embarrassment in the playoffs. A joke. Totally dominated. This will be the biggest embarrassment. Losing to a ****ing 8 seed without one of their best players and captain.

Nah.

It doesn't matter, this team isn't going to beat any other teams playing like this anyways, because there are 7 other teams playing perfect in their series.

The two games we lost in that the way we lost (OT) are the real heart breakers ...we had leads late (late 2nd period +) in both games and blow it ... those are tough to swallow.

The ironic thing is, I'd feel much more confident against the Bruins or Flyers. We don't match up well against the Sens (Caps wouldn't have been any different). If we can escape this series, then we'd be golden imo

Sometimes a series will go the distance. This is that time.

Rangers need to step up.

That's because people only see the result in the end.

Richards, Dubinsky, Callahan, Gaborik, Anisimov, Stepan all sucked last game too, and the game before that as well.
