Is Game 5 a must-win?

With the way this team has been playing with a lack of that killer instinct, put your balls on the table and git'r done mentality, what do you think happens if Ottawa wins game 5? Does NYR have what it takes to win the next two?

Just curious as to what the rest of you think, I've been watching a team that can easily put the Sens away but is just SO eager to sit back when they have the lead. This kind of attitude has been, in my opinion, the deciding factor in the two losses.

Absolutely. This team needs to make a statement and show why they are a #1 seed.

They are a dead team walking if they go back to Ottawa down 3-2.

The only must-win is an elimination game. It would be preferable to win Game 5 at home, obviously.
Win the requisite amount of games as soon as you can. That's about it.
There isn't a whole lot to talk about here.

It's easy to say yes, but no, it's not.

If they lose on Saturday, I think they're still capable of winning the series.

That being said, I'm expecting them to come out in front of a raucous home crowd and play like it is.

Must win is a stupid term. No it isn't. It's obviously a very important game.

I actually don't think this team is winning this series. If you can't finish up 2-0 tonight, it's not in the cards. Same old!

Hope I'm wrong

A game is only a must-win if you're facing elimination. Big game? Sure. But not a must-win.

We need to win at home and put the pressure on them, it's as simple as that.

Game 6 is a must win. We do not want to go 7.

I guess that effectively makes every remaining game a "must win."

Yeah... I don't want to go back to Ottawa down 3-2.

It's not a "must win" but it's definitely a "really good idea to win". Don't want to go back to Ottawa down 3-2. Can't give them the mentality of the upset in their house. I really feel that if we just play our game for 60 minutes, we'll be ok. Unfortunately, we just haven't done that...

being that we won't eliminated, it's not a MUST win, but we better ****-ing win! I don't want to see this go to 7. We need those extra days off to rest and re-tune our machine. we need the practices.

Yes must win.

Winner of game 5 when a series is 2-2 goes on to win something like 85% of the time.

I don't care what anyone says, every home playoff game is a must win. You count on having the edge with your fans in the building. If you win your home games in the playoffs, you advance, it's not hard to understand.

Game 5 is a must win because we are home, not because if we lose we'd be facing elimination.

We're about to be eliminated by the ****ing 8 seed. Forget must win, they need to play game 5 like it's the last game they'll ever play.

You could argue that Hags is our most valuable forward. In addition to his own value, he increases the value of Richards and Gaborik.
