its coaching all the way. It has been Torts MO since he's been here. The irony of his safe is death comment is prophetic.

Yes, he probably does.

People really need to wake up and temper their expectations regarding Kreider. Try to seperate what hes currently capable of and what he will be capable of.

At least he's putting himself in good position to score. I love Prust, but he's not even doing that right now. Any reason for Prust to lead forwards in EV time?

Soft? they are not very physical but they are big, you just can't push them around.

Kuba: 6,4 225
Cowen: 6,5 230
Phillips: 6,3 220
Carkner: 6,4 237
Gonchar: 6,2 212

Karlsson: 5,11 180?

Sens' defenseman are better puck movers than Philly IMO.

Exactly. They'll have to beat us at home to advance. We are in good position.

You have an argument with Prust, but its ridiculous to tie it to Kreider - the Sens also tied it up on 2 powerplay goals, so its not like Prust was doing a terrible job with all his even strength time, either.

In his 15 minutes of ice time over two games, Kreider has either looked OK or like a deer in headlights. Making him any sort of focal point for any sort of argument is a waste of time.

He's really not coached well at all.

I said before the series the only way we lose is if Anderson outplays Hank. It happened last night. Hopefully it won't happen again.

Right, because they haven't done that since the last home game.

And we took 1 on their ice the very next game.

At the end if the day we have potentially 2 games at home and 1 on the road. I like our chances.

I'm less confident. I don't think they played well at all last night, yet all the comments coming out of the locker room seem to indicate that the players and coaches believe that they did. I think that's a big problem. Torts is also being badly outcoached.

I also feel like a lot of Tort's decisions in this series have left me scratching my head. The way in which players are being used probably tops that list.

I honestly cannot understand why Rupp is not playing. With his vast amount of experience and success, he should be leading the way for most of this group. There's gotta be more to that story than just Boyle's hot hand. Injury?

If you're essentially rolling 9 forwards and 5 defenseman, it's really no wonder that the team is sitting on leads. Everyone is too gassed to keep their foot on the neck of the opponent. These games have been and will continue to be a grind. The players that are watching from the bench need to be integrated into the strategy so that everyone else has something left in the tank for the last 10 minutes.

The reason we lost is because we only played for 20 minutes. This team needs to learn to play the full 60, or at least 40 minutes of quality hockey. Giving it away like this is unacceptable.

The only player for Ottawa who is true quality is Karlsson, the rest of the players are equal to their Rangers' opposite at best.

Ok, I'm feeling a bit better now. I literally went to bed right after the game after my frustration started to mount when reading some posts on here.

That meant about a 10 hour sleep, something I never get with kids.

Come at them hard on Saturday boys.

You have made some spot on posts the last few pages.

Seriously..after a loss this place is a mess.

How many playoff series have some of you guys watched?

They're not going to win 16 in a row.

Does losing last night sting? Sure. And if they lose Saturday Ill be very concerned.

But my original prediction was the boys in six.

And I'm sticking with it.

Crazy series, Ottawa has two wins and they've had the lead for exactly 00:00. At some point they've got to get a lead or you guys are gonna win this.
I know you guys like to block shots, but it looks to me like the Sens are countering that by shooting from weird angles. It also looks to me like Ottawa is trying to get the puck in below the icing line and keep it there (for the better part of the season it's been about maintaining possession). I think this might be paying dividends as it's forcing the Rangers d to get hit, but also because you guys are collapsing so hard inside the box, the Sens are winning a ton of races for loose pucks. Because of this they are getting some extended O-zone time and it looks to be wearing you guys down.
But like I said Ottawa has to play with the lead at some point, they can't keep playing comeback hockey.
Just wondered if you guys are seeing the same thing as me.

That's been our biggest vulnerability all year.

Anderson's stats aren't great, not because of his goaltending, but rather our d-men's propensity for breakdowns and turnovers in our own zone.

They've been playing better lately, but if I were Torts, I'd continue to try and get guys deep and pressure a bit more, and not worry quite as much about the backcheck.

Ottawa is using the one strategy that I've seen work consistently against the Rangers all year. Shoot from the point as much as you can because if a shot gets through with all the bodies in front, there's a good chance that it may get deflected or Lundqvist will be screened.

I've seen it so many times this year. When Lundqvist looks unbeatable, normally that's how they beat him.

It's simple. Torts and Sullivan's system is severely flawed, and MacLean and the Senators are exposing those flaws. Too much puck deference and getting pinned in our own zone for minutes at a time.

I just hope the system is being tailored to the lack of talent and it's not just the system that Torts intends to have in place when we are able to replace the lesser players on this roster in the future.
