It's all over boys game 4 was a must win. We're going to win game 5 but lose 6 and 7.

This.

It would be great for the Rangers to win at MSG then come back to Ottawa to eliminate them in their own barn.

Honestly? Yeah, it is. We go down 3-2 going back to Ottawa, and I don't have a good feeling. Even if we win Saturday, I still think Ottawa will force a Game 7 at this point, which is something I really did not want. But it is what it is.

So yeah, in my opinion..absolute must win Saturday.

He makes the first line go and without him we lose pretty much all our offense if another line cant get going, you add him and that line plays better thats a big difference because of his impact on the ice. Be sarcastic all you want its the truth we have no one near the level of Crosby or Giroux superstar status besides Lundy so it not a stretch to be one of the best forwards on the team.

I am not really that surprised with the results so far. I said this team needed to learn to win playoff games and hopefully that is exactly what this series is helping them to do. Sens match up well against us, very penguinish if you ask me.

What's become obvious here is the value of those extended forechecks by the 3rd line that only rarely lead to actual goals. More time in the offensive zone means less time in our zone. You can only make so many good defensive plays and tough saves. Sooner or later the puck will go in as it did last night. Though I DO think that 9 times out of 10, Hank makes that save. His glove has been much improved.

If we improve on the amount of sustained pressure we can bring to bear in their zone on Saturday night, things will start to turn our way.

So, while not a "must win" it is a pivotal game in the sense of turning the tide of puck-possession.

Must win? No. We beat Sens in Ottawa once already. We can do it again.

Important to take game 5? Absolutely.

Interesting. Each to their own but I'll take our captain, a free agent addition that had 66 points and a guy who scored 40+ over Hagelin. But hey that's just me.

Its a must win to me even though it isn't a "must win." The team that wins game 5 goes on to win the series 80% of the time (statistically).

This is the NHL playoffs. All the teams are good. Just re-group and get them at home. One game at a time.

Must win? Obviously not, but they need to come out of the gate hard and keep up the intensity for an entire game. This team was lights out in the regular season when it came to going up early in a game and holding onto the lead. I have no idea what changed to make them suddenly collapse.

is it a MUST WIN as far as it being an elimination game? no.

it IS a must win as in if we lose, its gonna have a massive effect on the rest of the series. we will have our backs to the wall and OTT with all the momentum.

yes i have faith in this team, and i have since that comeback OT game last season in PIT with Callahan's sweet toe drag, but after getting the "dreadded two goal lead" early last night and just playing D the rest of the game, lets just say my faith is shaken.

In the litteral sense of the term, no it isn't of course.

But if they lose a 2-0 lead, and blow it in OT in game 4, then lose at home in game 5 and head to OTT down 3-2 facing elimination... I feel the momentum is all OTT.

Your forgetting when Hagelin was inserted with Richards and Gaborik they magically started playing better. Hagelin was tremendous in several games giving that line the confidence to create and start compiling points.

And in a series in the playoffs Hagelin provides speed which backs up their D man which is almost the biggest reason there tied in the series is D man with too much time and space. And he also really creates offensive zone time which we have had very little without him. Im not saying he is our best forward just that he is very important to the team to the point the case can be made.

Effort or Adding Sedin with Sedin totally changed the complexion of the team. Our guys are giving effort, the only guy i expect more from is prob Dubi and Stepan because ive seen them and think they can do more. Hopefully on home ice they will.
