Just a huge "THANK YOU" from Germany to all the folks in Ottawa that made my 2-week-hockey-trip in early March such a great and memorable experience. I saw the Sens play at home 5 times and at a game in Montreal and loved every minute of it. Great team, beautiful city, fantastic Fans - thanks a lot and I am looking forward to coming back next season!
What are some good tourist attractions to head to before the game? Have heard good things about the Parliament Buildings.
Parliament buildings are definitely a good option. The market itself is pretty great. As someone pointed out, it's not NYC, but I personally do love the city. How long is your stay?

Hitting the road after the game. Will probably stay for a week or so. I've already been to GTA/Windsor area and I have some relatives there.
How is Casino du Lac Leamy? Is it a dry casino (i.e can't drink on the floor but only in the bar)?
I'm staying at the National Hotel and Suites, I'm assuming if I want to go the casino just over the border that a cab will take us?
Yes, cabs run freely across the river. Alternatively, you can pick up STO route 21 pretty much right outside your hotel (on the north side of Queen Street, juuuust east of Bay). Cash fare is $3.55 each way, but it's not as direct as a cab and I don't know how late it runs. But they should know at the hotel's front desk, since the route is specifically designed to ferry people from hotels in downtown Ottawa to the casino.
The casino itself is a fairly classy joint - I don't know I you can walk around with a beverage, but I don't see why you wouldn't be able to. Table limits are a little high (10 for blackjack, $25 for outside bets on roulette), but you can easily kill and hour or more with a roll of quarters on the virtual horseracing game
Can anyone tell me if Scotiabank place is accessible by walking? the last time i was there I stayed downtown and took a shuttle. This time I'm staying in Kanata. From what I remember it's right off a highway and didn't seem real accessible to walk.

1) For driving up - is it advisable to buy a parking voucher online ahead of time? How does that work exactly anyway?
2) Section 106 - is that behind the penalty boxes or player's benches? I do wish that SBP would show captures of the sections as I've seen for other arenas
3) For jerseys - is the store inside SBP keeping well stocked? Or should I be looking at getting myself one in an area store before going inside? Thinking I want to grab a heritage jersey when I go up.
It's about a 40 minute walk from that hotel. It's possible, go down Katimavik and then it turns into Palladium drive straight to SBP. If you don't mind walking for that amount of time.

1) don't need to buy a parking pass in advance, just pay at the booth when you arrive.
3) there's more than enough selection at the Sens store in SBP. There's actually 2 Sens stores. There's probably more selection than a regular store.
Ahh okay, the seating chart I was looking at before didn't really label them too close. Going to sound silly, but since it's middle of both benches - I'm assuming if fairly low down the view is likely going to be rather restricted isn't it?
But there's a chance if I had a good sign, it'd get picked up?

If you're right in front row a-c then there's a chance players-coaches block your view a bit. If higher you should be fine.
hey everyone, out of towner here coming down for game 6 sooo pumped couple of questions here:
1) After purchasing through captial tickets and chosing the print at home option, do i need any confirmation or updating of my tickets for game 6
2) the last time i came to the game in ottawa 08' i took the shuttle bus from the rideau center to the SBP, was really quick and cut traffic, but i took the train to ottawa. this time i will be coming down by car. is there are places where i can park to get a bus lift to the SBP (parking garage must be open till late so if the go to extended play i won't need to worry)?
3) final question: if i decide to stick around SBP after the game and walk around will there still be buses 1hr after game has ended?

Also got tickets for section 106, going to be epic. can't wait
Oh also parking related - any particular lots to go for or avoid in terms of ease of getting out after the game?
Gonna have to make the drive all the way back home after the game, so when it is time to filter out - cutting as much time out of the chaos that I expect there to be trying to get back to the 416(and beyond) would be nice.

You may choose otherwise, but I always try and park at the Bell Sensplex for free.
If you're heading west after, it's a pretty easy drive to the highway.

really appreciate the help
GO SENS GO
1) You just need your printed tickets. No need to bring other confirmation to get in.
2) You can park pretty much anywhere downtown and you should be fine. OttawaU offers some pretty cheap parking as well, and can take the bus from campus station.
3)1h would be a stretch. Most bus are gone after 45min, maybe even before that?
