His plan must be to go down 3 games to 1 and lose both games at home

Apparently Hanzal is on the ice for practice, but Korpi isn't.

Can anyone explain what happened with either of them in game 2? I was at the game, but I can't remember for the life of me the hit they took or what it was when they left. I'm a bad fan.

I missed it to. I think Hanzal's was a mystery and we only knew it was an injury because a TSN guy saw trainers helping him out without Hanzal putting any pressure on his leg.

I bet he was 25% ready on Tuesday but the risk of being a man down again prevented him from playing. Now the question is if a 50% Hanzal is better than a 100% rook?

I laughed out loud at the last line of that article.

I don't know exactly what happened with Korpikoski but it was in this situation. He fell pretty awkwardly. After this he stayed on the PP but you could tell he was hurt and could not skate very well.

It seemed even more weird with Hanzal. He went off after this which really seemed like nothing. (He's the one with the puck on the blue line)

I am not a fan of this guy but the rental quotes are hilarious:

Quote:
In a couple of months, we may not even own the Phoenix Coyotes. The chances are good that the Doggies will become the latest Arizona short sale. So, forgive me if I'm treating this team right now like a rental car ("Uh, did we just run over something? Hossa? Whatever, it's a rental…")

as a positive if Hanzal was trully DOA and not able to play again in this series, he wouldn't have taken the skates nor had the optimistic approach. Maybe coach's philosophy is that he won the objective one of two in Chicago and wants a well rested Marty for game 5?

I can support this. No reason to rush him back. We have home ice back, and a few more days rest couldn't be a bad thing.

The Blackhawks are going to come out with a vengeance. I wouldn't expect them to go headhunting openly, but Hanzal would certainly be a target. Not that he doesn't know to handle himself physically, but he shouldn't be out there if he's only a couple hard checks away from another injury.

Seems like this is going to be a tough one for the Yotes. On the road. Three forwards out and Vrbata still not himself. Smith was playing Wednesday like a guy that still had cobwebs. Chicago will be fired up and playing at home.

Seem like we'll need to steal one to have a chance. Maybe Smith can stand on his head and we can pick one off 2-1 or something.

I'm gonna be pretty upset if they try to come out and do anything this game. They jumped Torres right after the Hossa hit, but I was honestly expecting someone to drop the mitts with him, or just jump him. It was shades of the Talbot incident when he was on Pittsburgh against the Islanders. The controversial hit he made, boiled up to the next game where Talbot just got jumped randomly skating up the ice.

I would like to think that the players on the ice, and the coaching staff have better respect than to do anything like that. Hossa is out, it sucks for the Blackhawks. But Torres isn't playing. I don't want to say eye for an eye, but the justice is being served to Torres.

But what do I know, maybe this will just turn into a massive brawl.

With Hanzal, Korpikoski and Torres out wtf will our lines look like?

I'd guess:

Brule-Vermette-Doan
Whitney-Chipchura-Vrbata
Pyatt-Gordon-Boedker
Pouliot-Langkow-Bolduc

Chipchura had limited success earlier in the season between Whitney and Vrbata, Vermette hasn't exactly shown great chemistry with them. I think the Pyatt-Gordon-Boedker line is the new 'shut down' line so I doubt they will be broken up. I think Brule has been good since coming here and deserves a shot to replace Torres. It sucks that all our forward depth (Chipchura, Pouliot, Bolduc) are centers and Watkins is the only winger.

Must be nice for Blackhawks to have the luxury of slotting their 2nd best prospect (Saad) in with Hossa out. 5 out of our top 6 prospects are d-men and our top forward prospects are Miele and MacLean

One would imagine that if there were going to be a line brawl, it would have already happened. Likewise with the retribution: they could have jumped Torres in Game 3, just in case it was the last time they saw him until next season. The series is so close, and the suspensions coming so fast and furious, that players simply may not want to risk it for the sake of retaliation.

I'm not expecting anything chipper than what we've already seen. The Blackhawks had their chance for retribution on Tuesay, and with Hossa's condition now known, I imagine tempers will have calmed a bit, and Shanahan has made it clear by now that they're starting to crack down on the extra-curricular stuff (see: last night's relatively squeaky Pens/Flyers game). The Blackhawks also know where their bread is buttered: they're a skill team, and trying to get physical plays to the Coyotes strength.

Haha. Wow. Doesn't look anything like a playoff team. If one of them wants to go into full-blown playoff hero mode, now would be the time.

Heard a rumor that the Coyotes bought a ticket for Torres for tonight.

The location of that ticket, you ask?...Right behind the Hawks bench.

Badass move.
