2 assists that were as quiet as can be. How about controlling a shift. How about winning a face off. How about making your line mates better 5 on 5. Oh yes he gets a cheap assist on stralmans goal that was off a rebound shot. Yes ok. Glad you guys are happy with that garbage for all that money he is getting over 9 years. He has done nothing to change momentum, cant even depend on him to win a big draw.

Richards ALWAYS shows up come playoff time. He is almost better in the playoffs than he is a regular season star.

The overpaid price tag is the only way an NHL team can get an otherwise FREE asset from the very competitive UFA market. So that is irrelevant.

3 pts in 4 games. No, he is not going to physically overtake a shift like Cally. But how about we call Stepan and Gatorade?

Flyers fan here...haven't seen all of your games. Whenever I have watched though, I've noticed that Richards has looked very good.

While I think Richards does have another gear he can play at, I can't really say that he has been horrible.

On the other hand I feel like Stepan looks like he was shot in leg... and I'm still waiting for Dubinsky to do ANYTHING offensively

I can't say I agree with the characterization of 'awesome' when you look at how little Richards and Gaborik had provided at even strength. What I see out on the ice does not resemble or perform like a 'top line'.

The 2 assists looks nice on paper but watching a full 60 minutes of this team's offensive 'game' lately leaves me scratching my head where our top forwards have been.

2 quiet assists to the only 2 goals we had. Yep, that makes him the worst player on the team.

Go troll somewhere else

He and Gaborik both need to raise their game just a bit more, they definitely haven't been as noticeable as they were at times this season.

Cally/Stralman/Boyle accounting for 7 of the 9 goals isn't going to cut it.

I Do however think that not having Hagelin with those two really has thrown off the rhythm they had going. Hagelin's work on the boards and speed into the zone are SORELY missing

So you would rather he not get 2 quiet assists and we lose 2-0? I see.

Gaborik has one goal in four games these playoffs...two goals in nine playoff games as a Ranger.

Gaborik has disappeared in the playoffs.

This thread would make more sense if it were calling out Gaborik.

Stepan is a 21 year old second year player. Who has a whopping nine career playoff games under his belt.

Gaborik is a 29 year old, that is paid 7+ mil per to be a scoring threat. Not to vanish the instant a game becomes physical.

Richards was also credited with six (6) blocked shots in yesterday's game.

I don't think he blocked six shots in the rest of his career up until that point.

Girardi was second on the team with five blocked shots.

EDIT: He was also .609 for faceoffs. Boyle was .429, Stepan .333, Anisimov .250, and Mitchell .000.

Richards ALMOST scored a goal with 2 minutes left late in the game last night before Foligno made a desperate defensive play. Otherwise Anderson would have no chance.
