I thought Erskine had a good game. I saw no rust. He played his minus well enough. Loved his hit on Krunchy. What can't Sarge do that? Herpes
Beagle had more TOI than Ovi just to explode some heads. 5BS. You need 4 lines to make a nice run, and rope a dope much of the year may have been preparing our 3s and 4s. Riding our stars in the past may have led to them getting injured.
I don't complain about TOI after a WIN.
One good thing about limiting Ovie's minutes is that it's likely to get more out of his shifts next game. It ought to mean more to him when he's out there. A HOFer shouldn't need that but...he's still young (?).
I think that's what the rule most strongly suggests. It could well be that that result is dictated by a commentary that I don't have in the version of the rulebook at the NHL website. But all the rules actually say about it as far as I can tell is that the ref gets to decide what to do in the event of a dispute and his decision is final.
This situation isn't actually listed in Rule 78.5 among the several reasons listed for disallowing goals (unless the ref does in fact blow his whistle when the time should have run out and a goal is purportedly scored after that, in which case it has to be disallowed). Rule 34.7 doesn't actually say what must happen in this situation, although, to me, it does seem to suggest that disallowing the goal would be correct, but it's really just an implication, and not at all a directive. All Rule 34.7 actually says about this situation is that the ref gets to decide what to do, and his decision is final.
Edit: Bob McKenzie tweeted that had Boston scored in the final 5 seconds it would have been disallowed--that's what I'm referring to.

I guess my tv angle did not show all the garbage. My impression was that he was decent. What say you about him compared to Schultz? Better, worse or the same?
I was watching on TV as well, but I was specifically looking for Erskine. Once the game is posted on GCL I'll try and pick out the times of the plays he got schooled on.
As for compared to Schultz, meh. Despite Orlov's play going completely counter to the game plan, I think I'd give him a shot at this point. Neither Schultz nor Erskine has done much to stop their checks in the defensive zone. Erskine brought less to the offensive zone (somehow) than Schultz, but was maybe a bit better in defensive coverage. Would rather run five defensemen at this point and/or give Orlov a shot.
I couldn't figure out a way to say "after wins" using H's.
He likes his defensive players and maybe just maybe sacrificing them to block shots etc early in the playoffs will bode well. In the past lord knows using Green for 30TOI only led to injuries. While Ovi seemed to be able to play through injuries in playoffs past, I think they took their toll. Semin seemed fragile. Let them watch shot blockers for a series.
He may not care to sacrifice his stars to win a single series, his eye is on the prize. Man we look sloppy but sloppy somehow can win games.
