Sure Ottawa has had more zone time, but it's all been mostly to the outside. The vast majority of shots they take haven't been very dangerous. People are making it seem like the Rangers are getting absolutely crushed, and they aren't. Anyone who thought any team would be an easy out in the playoffs was delusional from the start.
Also, The Turris goal is what happens when the defenseman goes for the block and misses. Lundqvist was completely screened by Stralman and Turris had the perfect shot. Forget it and on to game 5.
Plus, Anderson has been phenomenal, as has Lundqvist.
Time to balance out the negative Nancys! I for one feel very confident in the Rangers ability to win this series. I knew Ottawa wasn't going to be a push over, I gave them two wins in the series as my prediction. With that said, all is going as expected, so I'm going Mark Mess in this *****!
We WILL win game 5... AND 6.
Ye of little faith are not welcome in this thread.
So what are you confident about? A particular aspect of our game? Something Ottawa is bound to falter in? Let your confidence be heard. We're the 1 seed, baby!
edit:
Reason's I am confident:
We shut them out on their home ice. I would not be surprised if we shut them out again on ours.
Ottawa has never had a lead in the series (IMO despite it being 2-2 I like this stat)
It's a 3 game series now and we have home ice.
My mentality is this:
-At start of the series I say we sweep them.
-after losing a game,i say we got them in 5
-after losing 2 games i say we take um out in 6.

All i know is,@ times it looks like NYR is badly out played and OTT is just quicker to the puck. When they put pressure they put good hard pressure for mins at a time...
i still know that NYR is taking them out.But if Henke wasnt Henke,we wouldnt be in this series ,lol, thats the truth..Guy is the backbone of the team.
The Sen's are pounding away at us and it will take it's toll and those shots from the point by the Sens...will eventually find an unprotective bone and it will be bye bye for Cally or Boyle or Prust . All that stuff tends to add up...we have to get out of this very quickly .
Best of 3 against the #8 seed, with home ice. Time to put up or shut up. Do or die. I have confidence in this team, they have handled adversity all year.
I like what Fitzy said in another thread. Should they advance past this round, they will have a good sense of what adversity taste like. Good experience for a young team.

I was talking to a buddy of mine about this. He was talking about how he thinks Stralman has been very good so far. I agreed with him, but I stated that the goal in Game 5 was sorta on him. My philosophy on blocking shots (as a defenseman) is that if you're going to go down like that and make yourself vulnerable, while also leaving the goaltender vulnerable through screening, you better make sure you get at least a piece of the puck to block. I would've preferred to see him poke-check and try to deflect the puck, rather than go down and block. Personally, I just think he panicked and thought, "Shoot, he has room to shoot, let me try to block and hope for the best!"
