I might be missing something, but that doesn't sound right.
A player doesn't need to clear waivers to be released to their national team--as far as I know. It would seem pretty stupid for the Flyers to take that risk to let the kid go to the tournament.
I think this is about covering their bases in case someone else gets hurt.
Things like that are what actually would help decide in players wanting to come play for the Flyers. Just like the Jones incident. Sure they were going to take a hit, but they gave him a chance to play for another team in the NHL and I am sure the players seen that and respect the Flyers for taking that hit to help the future of another player. Then again I have had a lot to drink tonight so I don't know if I made much sense.
On Oskars chance of returning to the Flyers this playoffs. I don't see it much possible as I would think Gus and Manning would come in before him, but he was good for us when he first started playing. Its just that he was terrible for us towards the end and kept getting hit with injuries. I don't see him playing these playoffs with us..
Speaking of Oskars I saw a Bartulis Jersey walking around at the game yesterday but it had a #7 on it. Is this some special Phantoms Jersey that looks like a Flyers Jersey I vaguely remember the Phantoms at one point wearing Flyers Jerseys and was wondering if someone could solve that mystery for me. Seeing a Flyers #7 jersey without Barber on it freaked me out a bit
at quick glance, it's pretty easy to mix up a phantoms jersey with a flyers one. at least if he was wearing this one and you didnt see the front
That involved getting scored on every 13 seconds lol.
I assume you're being a smarta$s, but he was -1 for the playoffs, which ain't too bad for a guy who typically played with guys who couldn't score to save their lives. And quite frankly, from what I remember, it was usually one of his rotating line mates that were out of position when they got scored on.

Yup (he's listed as a scratch for tonight's game). He had just arrived in Riga to prep for the Worlds and had to get right back on the plane to go back to America.
