as bad as our goalies have been, the defense is brutal. Our forwards hate to play defense and it shows.

I posted this in another thread here, I just have a quick question?

I am not as familiar with Laviolette and how he works, but why not just start Bobrovsky if Bryz is even the SLIGHTEST bit hurt?

If the Flyers win the game they get extra time off for him to heal, if they lose they may go to Bob in game 6 anyway, so why not just take the chance? Seems like a win/win for the Flyers. Especially considering the way Bob plays at Consol.

Because Bob hasn't been good enough to deserve the start in general, and the only thing more fragile / vulnerable than Bryz's foot is Bryz's head.

I'm sure you Flyers fans don't follow this guy, so I figured I'd drop this here. You'll probably enjoy it.

And his ass, which will have the city of Philadelphia's collective boot up it if he doesn't step up and steal one.

Fair enough I guess.

But if he can not push off to get over and cover both posts (thinking of Letang's goal last game) then if I am the Pens I just try to move him side to side as much as possible. Although I am not sure what foot exactly injured, so maybe Letang's goal was just a bad play.

I just know I am rooting so hard for you guys tonight and hope, as you all do, that Bryz is up for it both mentally and physically.

This is a very reasonable concern, but Bob's glove hand is broken too, so both goalies have a pretty blatant physical problem.

Basically, the TEAM defense needs to be massively better tonight. Scratch out a win. And get healthier all around.

when you jump a foot off the ice to make a hit, kinda makes up for the height disadvantage.

Giroux was asked to explain the Flyers success in the CEC(which of course the guy does not mention), & he answered with that. Pretty sure the last sentence was talking about the Penguins & not the fans.

Lavy should dress 7 D tonight, that way whoever is playing the worst can ride the pine with only a few occasional shifts. I think we need depth on D more than we do a 12th forward.

Bryz's happy hour today consists of lots of cortisone shots and blood from a man who tried to kill a tiger

Not totally true. If JVR is ready to play, who do you take off? I guess you can say Wellwood, but there goes our shutdown line. Plus Im looking forward to seeing (if JVR does play) a JVR-Read-Voracek line.
