Shouldn't be terribly shocking considering Etem wasn't even named in the Hockey News top 100 prospects (to the best of my knowledge)

Well deserved. It'll be interesting to see what the kid does next season. If he comes over, I'm sure he won't have a hard time adjusting.

He wasn't in the top 50 and was Anaheim's fifth ranked prospect.

I'm intrigued to see what he can do in St. Louis' system, should provide a spark to a team that is truly lacking a dynamic player.

If you would add Etem you would have to add many, many other guys. HM list eould explode.
edit. Not saying Etem isn't great; he is but so are many other kids.

Ok thanks.
I own the issue, just haven't looked at it yet.

He wasn't as good since WJCs started.. for his standards. Let's see how he does at WCs.

Just because THN messed that one up doesn't mean he isn't a top 50 talent. Granted he isn't going to upset Tarasenko, but 60 goals in a year deserves some credit...

I am so jealous of the Blues. They've done an excellent job culminating talent.

Rattie had just as good of a year as Etem and he's a year younger. I don't put too much stock into junior stats because there's too many variables. Tarasenko truly deserved this credit. The fact that THN kept him out of the top 3 was proof that they put too much stock into the WJC.

Tarasenko is a good choice, as is Schwartz for an honorable mention. Pretty crazy that the Blues are already so good, and so young, and guys like Tarasenko and Schwartz aren't even making an impact yet. Scary good future for that team.

In the past twenty years, which Russians drafted in the first round haven't come over?

This is the right choice, considering the year he had. So much talent and so much enthusiasm for the game.
