Free sounds good.
Where's the Sensplex, and what time would you need to show up to park there?

And yeah - heading back down past Cambridge after the game... so westward ho and whatnot

I grew up in Cambridge, went to GCI & played for the Ghosts. I still have family there & drive down a few times a yr.

The Sensplex is right down the road. I'll link an address when I get to the computer.

For showing up, you should be fine if you're planning to be half an hour or earlier.

About a 10-15 min walk from the front.

I'm probably going to show up well ahead of puck drop. Take in the atmosphere outside, get my jersey purchased, find my seats, watch the warmup - snap a few pictures...

Sounds like I should be good then!

Thanks.

Are the bars at SBP open to people without tickets? I was way too late to pull the trigger on Game 6 tickets and obviously there's nothing left in my budget. I was thinking of trekking out at 4pm and going to Berts or something to watch the game and at least have a nice atmosphere.

Really, people get away with parking at the Sensplex, coming down for game 6 planning on doing so... but considering other options to avoid traffic

does anyone know if there is an express bus that goes from nelson street (area) to SBP and back?

anyone have the site where they have a listing of these express buses?

thanks in advance

Take a bike, park on the streets across Terry Fox and bike to the Bank. I do it all the time with my buddy.

how late can you stay parked at the Sensplex... and is parking at SBP really that bad, planning to chill after the game and take in some of the atmosphere

I've been to the arena before when I don't have tickets. But 4PM is perfect, anything earlier and you're risking a lengthy wait.

We've gone for after game drinks and still walked back to our car at the Sensplex without any problem.

he's telling you to bring a bike in your back seat/trunk, park in some of the residential and then bike to the game.

wednesday I got there late and ended up in lot 9. Took over half an hour to get out. Just sat in the parking lot listening to the postgame interviews on the team 1200.

No, the earlier you get there, the faster you get out.

The Bell Sensplex is a 4-pad hockey complex a 15-20 walk away with a huge parking lot. You will want to walk behind the building (clockwise) across the beach volleyball courts and behind the SMART Technologies building. Going the other way doubles the walk.

If you wanna catch the game at a bar, the Prescott is tough to beat. Great italian food too. Then head down the block to Pub Italia for the best beer selection in town.

Only if the only other Italian food you've ever had is Chef Boyardee. Then it is a slight upgrade.

Not really. It's one of the better ones but not the best. Especially if you include Gatineau.

I'm almost afraid of some Mrs. Nyquil lawyering at this point.

My humble opinion is that leafs fans should decide: are you on our side or not. If it's the latter, GTFO.

Hi, I have an appointment at the US Consulate on Sussex next week so I am planning on coming down from Toronto this weekend and making a trip of it.

I don't really trust my car to handle the 4-5 hour drive so I was wondering what other options there are. Is Greyhound the cheapest option? Also, since I wouldn't have a car I would like a hotel that is fairly central to everything, close to the bus/train station, shops, restaurants, consulate, etc. How is the Quality Hotel on Rideau?

As far as things to see, from skimming through this thread I listed the Parliament, Rideau Hall, The Mint. Anything else? What about restaurants? I am open to anything (Italian, Mexican, Chinese, Indian) but the person I am with is vegetarian.

I also wanted to go to a casino. Is the Casino du Lac-Leamy the main one? If so, is there public transit or a shuttle that goes there regularly?

Thanks in advance.

There are plenty of hotels in the downtown Core. The Westin is in the Rideau Centre and is pretty central. Take a walk around the Byward Market and you're bound to find something you like restaurant-wise. Good selection there but it's also party central during the weekend. I think there is a bus that goes directly to the casino.
