Trying something here... Since I was curious, I looked up some stats, particularly defensemen games played and came up with this. (see attachment)

I knew that we had rolled a variety of line-ups, but geeze, I didn't realize it was this bad.

Dman with the highest GP (for the CBJ) was John Moore with 67.

It's officially official - JMFJ and Atkinson are on this year's Team USA World Championships squad.

Back in Russia they have "Kharlamov trophy" for the best Russian player in the NHL decided by player's votes. This year Malkin obviously won.
Interesting that Dadonov from the Canes named Nikitin the 3rd best Russian in the NHL after Malkin and Kovalchuk. Wandering if he really thinks that Nikitin was better than Datsyuk this year? Only 2 players named Ovie at all so he finished with only one 3rd place vote more than Nikitin.

Makes me think sentiment overrides reality. Nikitin breaking out and doing well is definitely easier to root for.

Why were they talking about trying to poison Mason in order to get him to request a trade on 1460 at about 3:30 today?

Was it any less offensive in context?

Didn't hear it, but, with those two brain-dead numbnuts, I can't imagine it would have been less offensive in any context.

I caught the whole thing.

The question, related to the "spend a day with Tim Tebow" charity auction where a woman paid $100k to hang with him for a day, was "If you had $100,000 and HAD to spend it on a day with an athlete, who would it be?"

The second caller called in and said Steve Mason. The reasoning was while he wouldn't want to "poison him to kill him", he wanted to drug him to make him paranoid that everyone in Columbus hated him in the hopes of forcing Howson to trade him. Thus, the real winner in the whole endeavor would have been the CBJ organization.

Common Man and Torg responded by saying that it wouldn't work because Mason is too cocky to believe there's anything wrong with him and that, given the money he's raking in, he doesn't care.

Very impressive work, Adam, but I can't think of a single reason RJ would deserve such recognition.

You think it's real? Or something he pays a relative or someone in his agent's office to maintain? Looked very corporate to me, except the twitter posts.

JMFJ 'turns the page'

http://www.bluejacketsxtra.com/conte...-the-page.html

Quote:
"It's funny," Johnson said. "I've been asked that by a few people. I don't feel any emotional connection to the Kings at all. To me, it's just another hockey game. I've completely turned the page like that. If I'm out and I happen to see it on TV, it's really not a big deal.
"To be honest with you, I could care less if they win or lose. Some guys on that team I played with, I'll always consider friends. But whether they win or not, it means nothing to me."
Johnson came to the Blue Jackets, along with a conditional first round draft pick, in the Feb. 23 trade that sent center Jeff Carter to the Kings.
Asked if such a disconnect with his former club surprised him, Johnson said: "Yes, and no. It tells me I’m happy where I am. That’s all I need to know.
"I don't have any animosity. If I had a chance, I'd probably thank them for trading me, because I feel like I'm in a better spot now. I'm where I belong."
Johnson said a handful of players -- he mentioned defenseman James Wisniewski, and wingers R.J. Umberger, Derek Dorsett and Vinny Prospal -- have been staying in contact so far this off-season via cell phone.
"It's just making sure we're having good summers, staying in touch," Johnson said. "More than anything, we're making sure everybody's in tip-top shape and ready to go when training camp starts."

“@Aportzline: As first reported by Columbus Business First, Nationwide Arena getting a new main scoreboard. Price tag? $5.5 million”

so glad this is happening. The old board just looked way to out dated.

Good to hear, although we had to know it was coming. That was one of the requirements from the league for the ASG.

I didn't have an issue with the old one, so it will be interesting to see what the new one looks like.
