there was a pic on twitter of a guy in a Preds hat at the Masters.... Does anyone have that pic? Someone at the Preds asked me about it at the game, and I can't remember where I saw it...
So, today in class, my professor mentioned going to Budapest a few years back for a conference on sports literature (anecdotal; he was using it to discuss the emphasis the British and Irish place on class distinction for our discussion on Michael Longley). I followed up with him on it after class, and he showed me a variety of baseball books and other things he had tucked away on his shelves. Then, expecting a funny look, I said, "I love baseball, but my real passion has always been hockey." What I get instead of a funny face is a professor rummaging through one of his shelves and pulling out a book entitled The Hockey Player Sonnets.
I posted earlier about this, but today was the funeral for PFC Frank Jennings. He was my mom's cousin and died in Korea in 1951. His remains were just returned to the U.S. after being identified not long ago.
And I include this picture, because it turns out this man didn't know my second cousin, however he heard about it on the news and drove from Waverly to Decaturville for the service. In full uniform. He was nice enough to allow me to take a picture for the family.
I went to the Elmira Jackals vs. Florida Everblades game in Elmira and well, does it count if you walk out in the 2nd period when the score is 5-0 and it wasn't that close, and you aren't rooting for a specific team?
Next comes the Marlies, yes I DID get tickets to a Toronto Professional Hockey game without selling my soul, first borne, limbs or vital organs.
And if the Preds do there job I will complete the trick soon.

haha no but that would've been quite awesome. I remember stopping a shot and realizing I wasn't wearing a mask, so I wouldn't play until I could borrow a mask from someone.
