I'm worried that all of the Raffi chants and stuff will just be a distraction. If you listen to Tippett and player interviews, they're just refusing to talk at all about it.
The organization can't really talk about it without incurring further wrath (and fines) from the league office. I'm sure players all have their opinions on how much merit the ruling has, but they've got a series to win. I would definitely chant his name if he is shown on camera in the stands or whatever.

I'm guessing if they said how they really feel about it they'd risk getting a fine from the league?
Section 122 - - will be leading the Raffi chants from my section!
God I wish I was going tonight. I can't imagine the atmosphere with the hopes of winning the series at home tonight! I'm hoping there are almost all coyote fans tonight. I did see some hawks fans going to the ticket booth after the coyotes lost game 2.
lurker here guys. While on the subject of more people interested now in the team.
I was wearing my Doan jersey yesterday and a Latino man started to talk to me about the games and the torres hit. He said he wished more latinos played hockey, I told him Torres is mexican... he had the face hahahaha. This city is really paying attention now!
The school where I teach is 90%+ Mexican. I teach French, so we talk about Canada and hockey often enough. I took some students to a game back in February and they loved it. Now I have a pretty big chunk of my students following the team, asking how they're doing and when they play next (a lot of them don't get FSAZ+, so they're kind of screwed out of watching the games).
I have some who would LOVE to try hockey - but they can't skate. It's just not something they get to do as kids, so they never really get into it. If we could find a way to get some of the soccer fans to watch a hockey game or two, it would probably appeal to them - same concept, only much faster!
They all know Torres because he's the ONE guy on the team who can speak Spanish! They like him cause he's pretty rough. This is only going to build his street cred with them.

Would be cool to see Torres use his suspension and go visit some of the predominantly spanish speaking schools to promote the game.

Unfortunately when FSAZ+ airs the games instead of FSAZ 80% of the audience disappears. If Coyotes stick around next season they need to look into finding a better media partner. I believe the best ever ratings were a game on 3TV/KTVK which is no surprise given that 3TV has a lot better distribution than FSAZ and FSAZ+.
That would be awesome! As a French teacher, I've always thought it would be neat to get Vermette, but Torres might be more available. Do they do things like that?
My kids would LOVE to do a little game of street or field hockey just to see what it's like, I know the Coyotes work with younger kids but maybe not so much the teen crowd?
Doubt it during the playoffs, but you could always contact Coyotes Charities or Mike Nealy's office and talk to them, they have to get approval from GMDM for any player appearances, but it's cheap grass-roots marketing, so it's always a possibility.
100 Raffi heads ready for Raffi Fest 2012. We will arrive at the game around 5:30 Gate 5. If you want one please stop by. We are asking for donations to cover the cost of printing. $3 for 1 or $5 for 2. The 5 for 2 doest cover the cost...but it makes change easier!
And...
Anyone at the game tonight. We park in lot g - big red van (over by the scalpers) the outside of gate 5 until 6 pm. The at the top of section 121.
That's one person from the BOCH group on FB.
Damn! I thought I was the only on doing that! Not sure if you guys saw at game one, but my bro and I started the whole black hawk down theme.
I am bringing a 3x3ft blown up raffi face, see you guys there.

Yeah, I assume it wouldn't be during play-offs. Maybe when we go back in the fall, it would still be hot outside but maybe we could use the gym or something.
The school is only 3 miles from the arena, and my students are almost adults, and some of them have the money to spend on tickets every once in a while. Not a bad thing to get them hooked as fans, even if they don't become players themselves!
At the barber shop today they were all talking about the game. One dude was selling tickets. The owner told they had just shaved a Canadian guy who just flew in for the game.
