John Scott

Been following my favourite enforcers this season and just wondering if you could see Scott playing tonight in case of Carkner.

No. Carkner was back last game and Scott sat. He offers absolutely nothing to the line-up. Skill and hard work wins games, not goonery. Kreider will be back in tonight.

Nooo thanks, as was stated above, he brings nothing to the lineup. The last 2 games were played like real hockey games minus the bull that distracted everyone in game 2, there's no reason to possibly start that again.

The Barber-Clarke-Leach line was as good as any in the league. To say that team gooned it's way to back to back Cups is off-base.

The fact that this guy has 146 NHL games played is beyond me.

Stop being clueless. That Flyer's team had tremendous skill and a fearless leader in Clarke. They also had a goaltender in Parent that Hank doesn't hold a candle to in big games.
We can all hate the Flyers for the style of hockey they've played since the early 70's but the fact remains that they are a terrific organization that has had 19 100+ point seasons since 1967. By comparison, the Rangers have had 5 or 6 100+ point seasons in 86 years.

It's okay to have a jaded opinion but you should really base it on fact instead of fiction!

This is the turn the other cheek forum. You are barking up the wrong tree here...
I would play Scott in favor of Mitchel as he is worthless.

Interesting stat: Since Boogaard was listed at 6'7 as a Ranger, John Scott is the tallest Ranger ever.

He's also the most useless Ranger ever.

Yeah, you're right. Fearless. Like against the Soviets in the Summit Series. Kharlamov was making Clarke and the rest of Team Canada look like scrubs, so Clarke showed no fear in destroying a much better player's ankle. If you can't beat 'em, injure 'em.

What does the Flyers' history as a whole have to do with the realities of their team in 1975? Bobby Clarke is a piece of garbage.

A piece of garbage who's one of the best passing centers ever and is a hall of famer. You make it sound like the only reason they won back to back cups was because they were tougher than everybody else.
You sound like a disgruntled Red Army fan!

Steve McKenna was 6'8" - no balance at all, but he was tall. Chris MacAllister was up there too. The minor league goalie, Jason Missiaen is 6'8", and Mitch Fritz, also 6'8", played a few games for the Wolfpack a few years ago.

I know I'm in the minority, but I would've dressed Scott in lieu of any number of players. The Sens set the tone physically when they went after Boyle, and and it would have given the Rangers a psychological lift to see Neil, Carkner & Co either have to stand up or back down to Scott, if just for a few shifts. Rupp has just been too passive in that role. Even Sean Avery could have served a disruptive purpose in this series, in a different way.

The Rangers are simply not talented enough to give up the physical edge in a playoff series. They had it all throughout the regular season, and it was a subtle but important reason for their success. It helped them play with more confidence, and it put their opponents on their heels. But the Sens stepped it up in the playoffs, and the Rangers have been the ones playing on their heels.

Though I respect your opinion and agree with the rest of your post, your goaltender comment is complete trash. Shame on those blaming anything on the one constant weve had since Leetch.

I was at the Bruins game that we won 4-3, and sat next to a B's fan, who was very respectful and could actually carry a conversation. His nickname for Scott was "Big Dummy."

And that's exactly what he is.

Mitchell getting 3-5 minutes a game is doing wonders for us.

The Sens looking to start something after every whistle and we have the meaniest guy in the league sitting in the locker room...the fans who say Scott is a waste can continue to make that claim when the Sens beat us in this series because Tort's refuses to play this guy.

Scott played 4 games in the Hawks - Canucks series last year...but Torts feels like it is not necessary to dress this guy and he sits there like a dope and watches Greening destroy Gabby and then Carnker destroy Gabby once again.

Then we watch Smith and Neil crash the net time and time again and then we watch Neil absolutely destroy Boyle and we happens....nothing!

Players are playing scared....they are bullying us...but we get 4 minutes of Mitchell...that will help.

Then Bickel and Rupp get to watch our guys get run because they are sitting next to Torts.

I thought Torts has done a great job this year but he has been out coached severely in this one.

But lets turn the other cheek...you guys are sad!

Come on bro,you know how the board will respond to that...How would Scott stop Neil from hitting Boyle while sitting on the bench all game? Anyone who doesn't see the series turned when Zenon and Carks were put in are dumb and blind...They take shots at every chance they get...To me it looks like were playing scared...We definetly arent scoring any goals for Hank maybe because they're all wondering when Neil is gonna cream them.
