Right? Petco is such a ridiculous pitchers park.

The fact that Kemp was able to hit one out to that right center field....that was truly a bomb.

Like Vin was sayin last night, guys in the Padres locker room were saying...cold day with overcast and Kemp was able to go deep to right center. That's some massive power.

I'm trying to figure out if the Dodgers are better than expected or the Padres are just extra-terrible. Total domination by the Dodgers so far in this series.

I just posted the same thing in the baseball forum. It is funny to not have to hear Beat LA the whole game, SD looks really bad. With our next two series against the Pirates and Padres, we wont know how this team really is until they take on the Brewers on the 17th.

Matt Kemp is an amazing baseball player. Just hit his 4th home run. 13 RBI and hitting over 0.400.

Ethier follows with a solo home run for his NL leading 14th RBI.

Dodgers feasting on the weak team so far.

If anyone will win a Triple Crown over the next ten years, it's Matt Kemp.

Kemp and Ethier have combined for more RBI than 9 MLB teams.

15 for Kemp and 14 for Ethier so far. 1st and 2nd in baseball.

To be fair... this is as cupcake of a schedule that the Dodgers could have dreamed of to start the season.

We got the Brewers, Braves and Nats coming up so that should be a good test of what these guys can do. The good thing is that unlike years past, we are beating the teams we should be beating.

You still have to play the games. Still MLB teams.

Still a great start. Gotta take advantage of the weak schedule.

After watching the kings play down to their opponents, it's nice to see the dodgers take care of business.

This.

It balances out. just over .500 baseball...like .550 is a playoff team. Basically beating the teams you should beat...and stealing a series or two against better teams.

Man, you can bet your ass the league is going to want to get Kemp tested after what he's done to the Padres. I don't care who you're playing against, a .500 BA through 38 ABs is crazy, especially when 6 of those 19 hits are HRs.

The guy now leads the whole league in BA, HRs, and RBIs (16).

And all of this through a mere 10 games. Sure, it's still early for the batting average to mean anything, but my goodness.

First time the kings, clippers and lakers make the playoffs the same year. If the kings make the second round, staples is going to be busy.

Whats absolutely amazing so far is his 22 RBI's, with the craptastic offense this team has outside of Kemp and Ethier. I mean

Gordon .218
Kennedy .077
Loney .209
Sellers .167
Ellis .229

I mean thats 5 out of the 8 positional hitters in the lineup near or below the mendoza line. When teams finally learn not to pitch to Kemp is when this team starts dropping fast. How teams are still pitching at all to Kemp right now is amazing. Dude is nails.

As long as Ethier is batting behind him, Kemp is going to see pitches to hit. I just wonder if Loney is starting to turn it around or he just likes being home.

That was a good example of what happens when you pitch around Kemp. Ethier with a 2 run double.

Walking Kennedy was idiotic. He's batting 0.077, just throw it down the middle.

Walking kemp makes sense and as long as Ethier comes through, the dodgers will win a lot of games.

43 RBI between Ethier and kemp.

Yes, but statistically speaking, you would rather a guy batting .270ish beat you than a guy hitting out of his mind over .450 and already has 9 dingers this month.

True but Andre is batting close to 300 and has 1 RBI less then Kemp. The problem is going to be when Ethier gets his first injury of the year.

Matt Kemp is still a God.

Quote:
Kemp drove a 1-2 pitch off Tom Gorzelanny (1-1) to center field for his majors-leading 11th home run, breaking the Dodgers record for long balls in April set by Gary Sheffield in 2000. Kemp tossed his helmet as he galloped from third to home plate, where he was mobbed by teammates.
