If Boyle is out, who DO you dress then?

No one. Kreider stays in. Mitchell stays in. Hagelin replaces Boyle.

I'll give Neil his props, he has always delivered big hits against us and mostly clean hits. But that hit to Boyle looked very similar to Torres' hit.

Shanny don't **** this up please

So let's see how consistent Shanahan actually is. I'm fearing the worst, 0 games.

Jones and Milbury just chimed in during Hawks intermission and both thought it was clean.

Just to include a fact here.

Neil has never been suspended. Only a fine back in 2003 for a scuffle with Darcy Tucker.

Most, if not all, major networks view the hit as clean
-Several diff. guys from TSN
-Ron maclean & Don on CBC

I guess these are all Canadian so perhaps it will be viewed that they are biased. Personally, I doubt the hit even gets looked at(and it's my opinion that it shouldn't be)

That's a weak point. If anything Milbury would side with us considering Sens are rivals for his team.

Sen fan coming in peace. First off I hope Boyle is okay. Concussions this year have been ridiculous, and he's been your best player along with Lundquist. I also didn't mind what he did to Karlsson at all, its the playoffs and thats hockey.

But its a little delusional to think that was suspension worthy. Boyle crossed the middle of the ice with his head down..... Thats just asking to be killed. In fact, I would be pissed if one of our guys let up a chance to lay out your guy's best forward this series. Neil didn't take any strides, and I don't see where he left his feet? Maybe I'll watch the replay a couple more times. Also, everyone hates Neil, but he has either none, or one suspension in his whole career.

Not when he was playing. Rangers/Bruins rivalry was huge in the 70s.

I neither hate or like the rangers but hate the Sens and Neill. I would also be mad if it happened to a Sabre. But it was a very rough but clean hit. If Boyle rammed Spezza like that you would also consider it hard but clean

Interesting quote. The point being, Neil isn't a repeat offender so even if your opinion is that it was cheapshot he won't get any games a la Weber.

he is a repeat offender, though. If they don't send a message here, what's he going to do after another 9 years? they can't afford to find out.

On TSN they actually broke it down pretty good.

The hit was not late. Neil hit him at the 10th frame in a 30 frame per second clip. Torres was at the 24th frame.

He did make contact with the head but in was in the process of a body to body check. His head was down

As for him leaving his feet, he did but he didn't jump. To make a body check with your shoulder you have to come off the ice somewhat so your skates don't dig in to the ice.

It looked like the Torres hit but is was not. Neil had a $1000 fine in 2003 for a check that was borderline. That's it.

I'm sure I already know the answer to this...but did you think Hagelin should have been suspended?

The fact that we are discussing the loss of our best player in the playoffs (Brian Boyle) and no one did anything about it really says something about this team. Torts has been terribly out coached in this series and even though it was a close game he could have sent Rupp out there to settle the score with Neil, but he did nothing like the rest of the team. This team fell apart at the end of the season and has one game to show up, let's see if torts does anything. Neil should be suspended as that hit looked very similar to Torres hit, but Boyle is a nobody so nothing will happen.

Based on the hit no

Based on the injury yes

Neil's hit was fine, Boyle was caught with his head down, like when Stall hit Spezza.
