In that vein there is talk Holmstrom may retire and Stuart wants to go back West to be with his family. Combine that with a Lindstrom retirement and you've got a team needing a make over and the cap space to do it.

I can't imagine Lidstrom not returning. The Wings hosting the outdoor game is such a seminal moment in a franchise's history that it'd be plain wrong if he wasn't playing in that game. I could see him returning at a lower cap hit than usual ($4m?), thereby allowing them to sign one of the two big fish (Suter to be his successor?) and give them one more good opportunity at making a playoff run.

Just listened to the
Hotstove podcast and Friedman reported that Lidstrom's going to take some time to ponder retirement. Friedman also notes that the two reasons people seem to think he'll retire are Holmstrom's impending retirement (the duo travel to the rink together) and a second son is off to Sweden next season to play hockey.

Chicago tied it up much earlier than I expected...I was expecting another extra attacker goal to send it to OT...
But hey, we're on track for the 5th OT game in the series now

Yeah, but Crawford's in net so expect to see another leaky goal.

How did Chicago not score on that sequence?
And Doan repays that favor there...wow.

Oduya almost gave the game away.... again. He's had a terrible series.
If this goes to OT, I'd say Phoenix has the edge.

If it wasn't for the Hawks backcheck, Doan probably would have an Ovechtrick given how badly Crawford has played him.

Crawford esp. needs to worry about Boedker....... not to mention Vermette and Pyatt as well...

Crawford just needs to hope Kane, Toews, et al. score right at the beginning of the period so he doesn't have to face any weak shots.

Hawks survive. That was a goal scorers goal and Toews is one hell of a leader. Wish we had him on our roster.

It must be nice to have a Jonathan Toews on your roster. The Nashville pick can still be 19th for another day.

The difference between Crawford and Miller is negligible
Goal tending is going to hamper the Hawks for years if they don't properly address it.Crawford is not good.
Hopefully Mike Smith can just the door and close the series TONIGHT....he has put in an amazing year, I think he is Vezina/Hart worthy.
Yeah, because Mike Smith is notorious around the league for being amazing. Systems win.

That ALWAYS bothers me, especially when there's been a stoppage, yet low and behold, when play moves back downt he ice, THERE it is again!
It's not only a terrible hazard to skaters, it is also apparently IMPOSSIBLE for me to not keep staring at the damn thing.
Why DO they take so friggin long to remove those?

there are so many teams to like in this year's playoffs... St Louis is one of them.
Unfortunately Buffalo has almost nothing in common with any of them.
