wow, Wennberg really doing good if you look at the points! Anyone who have watched some of the games? If so do you think he might be ready for hockeyallsvenskan with Djurgården next season?
Really impressed by him, nice chemistry with Collberg and Possler. He had a hat-trick this tournament and another hat-trick against russia in the other U18 tournament but he has only scored 1 goal for Djurgården this year! Zibanejad and Åberg did not have huge point totals either in Djurgårdens Superelit team, he will probably get an opportunity to play in Allsvenskan next season.
There's nothing to lose now. They've met the expectations to reach the final and now there's a 50/50 game left. Get lots of traffic going to the net, make simple plays, don't do stupid pinches and play disciplined. Their goalie is not nearly as highly touted as Dansk so they should try to take advantage if there is a weakness somewhere in his game. Dare to win boys!
This team has been beating everything in it's path the whole season.. and then gets completely embarrassed when it matters most. Classic Swedish juniors I suppose. The US are obviously a very good team, but I don't think they are more talented then Sweden. I don't think they will have as many future quality NHL'ers for a start even though their defense was incredibly good. They do have the advantage of playing always playing together though.
I think I overvalued the Swedish defense. Other than Lindholm the defense wasn't up to scratch, but they can definitely not get all of the blame either.
Defense was the biggest difference, we gave them 4 goals for free and the game was basically over. Guess they were a bit nervous and stressed after that first goal, I know they can do much better than this. Anyway, another silver is still a pretty good achievement. The boys did not lose to a bad opponent, if only someone could arrange a rematch....
H. Lindholm, Dansk and Collberg were selected as the best players on the team by the coaches. Forsberg was named the best forward of the tournament, first swede ever.
