Is it this or is it a case of doing like the ECHL did this year and giving the higher seeds their choice of when and where the games are played to give the option for teams to take the higher attended weekend games or even give them the option to decline home ice for the first round?

Monarchs lose 3-2 in game one. Had a nice comeback there in the 3rd, but it wasn't enough.

Goals from Vey and Kozun. Hickey with two assists, and Jones is starting in place of Zatkoff.

Already tied up 2-2. Monarchs outclassed.

No offense with Loktionov, holloway and Moller away. Plus Nolan and king.

Surprised they even made the playoffs.

The Monarchs actually haven't played that bad, just very undisciplined. Way too many penalties.

Let's not forget they're playing a team that has won 28 games (maybe 29?) in a row.

edit: And as I type that the Monarchs take a 3-2 lead on a 4v4 goal by Czarnik!

Three assists for Hickey on the night. Not bad.

And it's over! Monarchs snap the Admirals' 29 game winning streak and tie the series 1-1. Next three games (for some reason) will be in Manchester. Go 'Narchs!

Nice to see vey with 2 and andreoff with a goal.

Morris is doing a great job with that lineup.

Congrats to @MonarchsHockey, a 5-2 win over Norfolk (who had won 29 straight) ties series 1-1. Goals by @Kozy15, Czarnik, Vey 2x, Andreoff

I'm surprised Legein has a +3 so far in the playoffs. During the regular season, it seems he was Mr. Minus. Could he be one of these guys who has an extra gear for the playoffs?

I would think that most kings fans would be monarchs fans as well. Especially since we have guys down there who very well could be regulars on the big club in the next few years (Kozun, Vey, Hickey, Deslauries, Jones)

Of course. That's not what I mean though.

Stay positive, also when things dont go well.

Do you think Vey could make the team out of camp? He's a RW and seems more NHL-ready than Toffoli with one year in the AHL. On the otherside both need to bulk up!

We need a new center for the 3rd line. I don't think Loktionov is the right player, so we should aquire one through Free Agency.

I don't think Vey makes the team next year. He has had a relatively good year, but he's been pretty inconsistent. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Kings dip into free agency to get a bottom six player.

Perhaps wrong choice of words. How do you say this in English, fair weather fan ?
Ok, that makes sense. I cant really say who is or who isnt a fair weather fan here of the monarchs, I usually dont spend too much time in this thread. I mostly just track the boxscores and standings over at the main website.

But coming into this series, I had a feeling that the Narchs would give Norfolk a tough series. They have so far, so lets just hope they keep it up.

Next season I can see Loki taking Stolls spot, and if Holloway comes back I think he will have the best shot at taking another open spot in the bottom 6. But within the next 2-3 years i can see Vey, Kozun, and Toffs all taking permanent spots on the big team AS LONG AS they keep taking positive steps forward in their development.
