Whats Prust going to get? UFA.

Terrible job by Sather letting Prust become a UFA, should have locked him up for 3 years.. If Rubber Dubinsky is getting $4 mill a season whats Prust going to command. the guy is ALL heart.. $3 mill a season? I just hope they get him signed.

errrrrrr love the guy but he gets Rupp money. 3 yrs around 1.7 per. He should stay in NY if he is smart. He has found a home here

No team in the league would give him that. He would be fortunate to get 2 mil a year. Your Dubinsky logic is flawed considering he was coming off a 54 point season which led the team (All the short term memory cases on here have forgotten) and Prust scored 5 goals this year.

If we want him, which we do, we will re-sign him. 2 year deal.

I don't want him signed for more than 2 years. Who knows how he'll look then and frankly, he hasn't shown the same offense as in the year before. I say 2 years at 1.1 or 1.2

he's going to see whats out there, you cant blame him, this may be his one shot at a large contract. im thinking someone out there offers him 3 years between $7 and $8 mill. I could be crazy for thinking this but I would be on line for him at $2 mill a season!

Love Prust but he takes a home team discount if he wants to stay or else see you later. To offensively challenged to get that kind of cash.

Pruster is deserving of a slight over payment by us because he is a heart & sould guy on the team. If not in dollars than maybe in contract length. I say anywhere from $1.1 per to $1.5 per on a 3 to 4 year deal.

I was a little disapointed that he did not put similar numbers up this year as he had in the past, but nearly all the bottom 6 guys did not put up the same numbers thay they did last year.

A shade over a million. He's really a 4th liner but he's often used as a 3rd liner. If he was able to build on last year's offense, or even match it, he may have gotten a cap hit close to Boyle's, but he regressed offensively.

He is a 4th line player that Torts believes can be turned into a third line two way wing.

He should be getting 4th line money and be playing in that capacity.

Toronto will offer him 2.5 for 3 years. He is the exact player that Burke loves.

he's not signed yet because he didn't want a contract distraction while the season is still going on, the guy wants to stay here. He'll likely get the same thing Rupp got -- 3 years, 1.5MM per. maybe a little rich but the guy is pretty good on the PK and he adds toughness to an otherwise soft-ish lineup, he's a good guy to have around.

If Burke wants to overpay, go for it. There are TONS of players who are like Prust. I like the guy quite a bit, but he isn't going to fix our scoring woes.

too small for an effective checking role, not talented enough for 3rd line duty. another player who is redunant. We have no one in our great system that can bang and provide energy with size?

Yeah I mean we have a ton of players like Prust in the AHL. Its kinda the same issue I had with the Rupp signing. Don't we have players just like him already?

I hope we don't re-sign him. Not because I don't like the guy- I do like him in a 4th line role. But our coach can't get it through his thick head that Prust has no offensive skill whatsoever and thinks playing him 17 minutes a game- in the ****ing playoffs- is a good idea.

2.2-2.4 over 2 years. Make the commitment to a top 6 forward and a top 9 forward from FA

2.5 mil over 2 years. That's generous, but comparable with the players on this team. We did overpay Boyle by a little and Rupp.

Some of you must be watching a different Prust than I am. There's tons of players like him? Prust shows what a Ranger is better than anyone except Cally.
Look at the guys that fight the most in the league. The other top fighters do it for the sake of fighting. Prust fights for his teammates. He isn't a bad fighter, but not exactly good. He's willing to take punches for our guys, which none of our other players have shown

I love Prust. Really created opportunities last night. Hopefully they bring him back, has become one of my favorite players. But if the price is to high, I guess Sather will have to pass.

For comparison sakes,

Chris Neil is $2 mil per year...

No way Prust earns more than that, I'd put him around $1.5

He is a great character guy. But he is a 4th line player. There are quite a few players that can give what Prust gives.
