This is the best reason I have heard yet for playing Scott.

Leave Bickel in

Scott and Bickel take out Carkner resp Neil early on, the rest of our boys can put the heat on big time for the remaining 55 minutes and even it up... this is the gest solution imo. Double shift Cally/gabby on the 4th line a couple of shifts each period and go with 5 D. Time to stop *****footing around...
I was thinking this late last night in bed. Just a slight variation.

1)Put Hags-BR-Gabby back together is a no brainer
2)Put the pack line back together, Dubi is at his best when he feeds off Cally's energy and Arty can play 3rd wheel high in the slot and watching for breakouts
3)Put Kreider with Stepan to see if they can get that WJC Gold winning chemistry back and have Prust as the 3rd wheel picking up garbage & playing back for turn around plays with his PK style awareness.
4)Scott-Rupp-Feds. Feds is able to compensate for Scotts defensive coverage and Rupp is a halfway decent center and him & Scott can match up against the Kenopka/Neil line.

Then we will have our:
1)speed/skill line,
2)our grind it out/wear you down/with scoring line,
3)a experiment in the making, but one with precident and the ability to play against Ott's 3rd line players with Pruster policing for the 2 kids.
4)and the enforcers with a do whatever it takes mentality scrappy Fed's

Having these two in the NHL right now is keeping me sane. Imagine how up ****'s creek we'd be if Hagelin/Kreider weren't around?

The "Pack" line hasn't worked in over a year. There's nothing there anymore.

The lines you gave are identical to what they will most likely be. Hags Richie and Gabs have to have to have to be back together if anything to bring the confidence back. And I'm almost 100 percent sure it's going to work. They reunite and think "Hey, let's take them down in their house and finish em off in NY and then troll the Sens fans in HFboards."

Yeah I was big proponent of it. But I agree that is doesn't have much anymore and its too late to try to get it going.

Dubi is completely lost and Ani has spent too much time playing as a wing.

Yep, it hasn't worked all season. Would rather the second line be Kreider - Stepan - Cally or something.

Going by ice time Anisimov was definitely on the **** list in the last game which is a shame because he started this series with two very good games. Stepan played well the last game though he's not had a good series.

Just going on this series the Rangers whether they go on or not should definitely try to upgrade some of their bottom 6 forwards in the offseason while also looking for more depth at forward positions--there are only a few potential NHL players in Hartford--they need to improve on that.

For now I think Artie (but maybe Dubi) falls into the 3rd line center position replacing Boyle. For all the **** Boyle took all season the Rangers are seriously going to miss him even if they do go onto the next round. We've got a big hole in our lineup right now.

Kreider should get a lot of powerplay time too.

That's what im hoping for, Stepan with Kreider.

Stepan is at his best when he's looking to set up his teammates. He's pressing to hard to be the scorer. He's pressing too hard to be everything. He isn't focusing on his strengths. Which is smart positioning and passing.

He was at his best with Gaborik earlier in the season.

Get him with Kreider. Have Kreider use his speed and size to open up space and find open lanes, let Stepan find him.

Callahan can be the catalyst that gets everything rolling.

Same concept as the Hagelin-Richards-Gaborik line.

Hagelin. Richards. Gaborik
Kreider. Stepan. Callahan
Dubinsky. Anisimov. Fedotenko

I think it's pretty funny a lot of people around here were saying how stupid it would be to have Kreider signed and waste a year on his ELC. How do those people feel about the fact that John Scott would have played in the last 3 games with Hagelin out and with Boyle out he would probably play in game 6 as well.

Granted Kreider hasn't played a ton or been a huge difference maker, but I'm willing to bet there would have been a little more insanity if we were watching Scott snail his way around the ice for 2.5 minutes a game, unsuccessfully trying to get someone half his size to fight him.

ha! I wish. But Torts gives
Mitchell PP time over Hagelin. So hopefully, Kreider is actually given a chance to play a more important role next year.

It makes the most sense.
Bingo. Why not Mitchell over Scott, though? Not that it really makes a difference but Scott is not a forward...

Call me crazy but I hope to see at some point in the game,

Hagelin Richards Gaborik
Kreider Stepan Callahan
Anisimov Boyle Fedotenko
Rupp Dubinsky Prust

Boyle will play.

Or....

Hagelin Richards Kreider
Anisimov Stepan Gaborik
Dubinsky Boyle Callahan
Fedotenko Rupp Prust

I'm pretty sure Hags played some center at Michigan.

But still funny.

Because he has been the most consistent forward so far in the play offs? A line with Fedotenko-Richards-Gaborik has massive play off experience and that might help.
