Really? I thought he made a couple horrific passes and flubbed a nice pass from Krieder. He isn't the problem, but he is getting way too much ice time.

He shouldn't get anything more than $2M a year, three years max.

He isn't that replaceable, he's one of the bright spots of our bottom-six. Right now he and Boyle are probably the only two guys in the bottom-6 I would want on a championship squad, and they'd be stapled to the 4th line and PK/defensive zone faceoffs.

4th line player. Really stupid if he gets more than 2-3 years, 1.1-1.3 mill per season. Gets way too much ice time.

I'm not head over heels in love with Prust the way many of you are. I think he has too little offense and more importantly, fights when it benefits the other team and not us. I like his grit, but if we lose him we lose him. Such is life under the cap.

Exactly, the dude is not going to make or break our team.

I don't know where people get that he's a "great" penalty killer. I'd say he's more like adequate. The only thing he does above average is block shots. He's slow, he doesn't get to a lot of loose pucks, and he isn't great at clearing the zone. The reason our PK has been consistently in the top 10 post lockout- despite the roster overturn- has been #30.

Much of that pertains though to the fact that he gets WAY too many minutes.

You make him more of a specialist he would look fine.

900k-1.1 million per year for 2-3 years. He is a 4th line player. Anything more would be silly. Lets not overpay him like we did Rupp.
Playing Prust on the 3rd line is a big reason why we are not a good offensive team.

Going to have make room for MZA and Kreider - guess that means no more Mitchell and Feds. Prust is valuable to the team, but 2 yrs/3 million (for time served) is about as high as I'd go.

Zuccarello can make much more playing in Europe next season. Does he want to stay in the NHL for two way money? Especially when there is the potential for a lockout.

Like usual, everyone forgets its not just about points and what not..he is good on the pk and can even be a threat offensively at times, yes i said that...he has great heart, great team guy, great in locker room..thats enough to give him 3-4 years and playing him an avg of 10 mins a night isnt hurting anyone..Det built a great team for years through all sorts of character players who all served diff purposes...

We have players like Prust? No, we don't. Newbury and whatever other scrubs in the AHL we have aren't Prust's, who can play at the NHL level.

Prust is an ideal 4th liner. Sign him for that price. If we're getting rid of anybody because they're "redundant" there's a few other people I look at before Prust.

Deveaux? Might not be as accomplished of a pugilist. But he can fill that void rather well I would say.

If we can't sign him for a 4th line price he should be sent packing.

I agree I think Feds is a goner. He isn't the same relentless player he was 2 years ago. Feds gives 100%, but he is a year older & slower & doesn't contribute much offenisvely. Prust can fill Feds role.

I think Mitchell is a decent player that can be used as an extra forward next season.

I don't think MZA is a lock to make the team next season. I don't even think he is under contract for next season.

He lost a good deal of money this year with his lack of offensive production.

Love the dude but don't know how much longer his body can take the abuse so with that; 2 years at $1.1 per.

How about 500 k for a 1 year contract and the Rangers pay for the surgery bill to fix his overbite?

I swear between Boyle and Prust its a race to see which one could pass for Cromagnon man in a museum display.

Players can earn a lot more money in NY off-ice than they can in most US cities and Canadien taxes are higher. He should take his 4th line money here, play on a Cup contender and be happy with a 4th line, PK and locker room kind of role.

4th line and good contract for Prust. I'd give him 3 years max.

Rupp-Boyle-Prust as your 4th line - nothing more.

Ahhhhh i'm done with Boyle. He is a good guy but there isn't one thing he does very well. I'd rather go get a bonafide faceoff specialist/relentless forechecker in Moore who won't be relied on to score goals the way we have relied on Boyle the past 2 years.

Are you kidding me. Boyle isn't relied on to score goals. And he has been our best player for weeks.

If anything Boyle has solidified himself as a fan favorite and a bottom 6 player on this team.

That was a wonderful trade that Sather did. I love boyle and am so happy he is here. We should hang onto by all means necessary.

Have you watched any games this series?

I think he has proven he is a good 4th line center. He still isn't a 3rd liner.
