I think the end of this game is gonna be dramatic... As a GWG in the last 2-3 minutes.

Sens win 5-2. Alfredsson with an EN to seal it.

Silfverberg scores the game winning snipe in overtime to cap a hat-trick in his first ever NHL game.

Zero traffic, no deflections, no screens, no nothing. Not that this is surprising, it's a traditional theme.

If we keep up with the "sliding pucks along the ice" and "logo'ing shots after giving Anderson the time to set up positionally", I certainly expect another shutout. Improving the pathetic passing would also be nice, pretty impossible to release one timers otherwise or pretty much do anything offensively. TEN horrible giveaways last game with the patented "let's blindly throw the puck diagonally through at least two opponents/ along the blueline to ensure a breakaway/ oddman rush the other way" that even peewee players would've been scolded for. How in the hell are these brainfarts so impossible to correct as far as coaching goes? They're not decreasing, they're spreading like a disease.

In the last three playoff runs, the Rangers have scored 1,67 GF/ game. That's bad even for soccer. Dubinsky has been invisible and downright bad all season and continues in the playoffs. Anisimov has been a turnover machine and handles the puck like a live grenade, Stepan hasn't done anything, Girardi has played like a 7th D-man, Del Zotto frequently does something stupid with the puck. With Hagelin back, we hopefully have at least one functioning line that actually can be a scoring threat. That's one 1st line, two 3rd lines (Callahan is legit, but the other guys are turnover pylons) and a 4th line.

Ottawa's defense and goaltending hasn't been exposed, because Rangers are just migrainely bad offensively and have the collective average hockey IQ of a grapefruit, apart from the game 1 anomaly.
I'd argue that the terrible ice at MSG has a lot to do with the poor passing. The Senators in specific have been much better with their breakout passes at SBP as compared to MSG.

I think this is a more reasonable result than 5-1 to Rangers. If Sens get the first goal Rangers must start to gamble.

Rangers might well win, but probably not with more than one goal.

Agreed. I noticed the puck is always on edge at MSG. While the ice at SBP isn't perfect the puck is often flat allowing for easier passing and receiving of passes.

Yay.

Funny how the suspension worked out to be the same length as the injury. I'll take it.

Should be noted that both are taking rushes on the first line with Spezza and Michalek. One will draw in, unlikely both.

Wait, what? The flu?

Got a link where that was mentioned by chance?

Looks like Silf will be in I think. Stone was last left on the ice with Klink, Daug and Auld.

This is how I feel as well. Think we need to win tonight. We are bound to have our losing streak start, lol.

Hmmm, that could be intriguing. Still think whatever happens, sens need to play like Lundqvist is still in net and come hard.

Faked it!

Also, I have no doubt Lundqvist plays. Even if he DOESN'T - we need to play as if he is.

I feel the same. This is the first full game I can watch. So flipping excited! A little nervous about silfverberg playing on NA ice for the first time in a real game, in such a crucial game. Ahhhhhhhh

Sounds like Silfverberg will play. Maclean isn't confirming anything, but Spezza and Silfverberg's comments make it seem as though he'll draw in.

Stone and Butler will likely sit.

My take for tonights game.

Gabs, Hagelin, and Richards will get shut down by rough play. Neil will continue to run around abusing people, and Rangers will do nothing to get him back.

Only players to make a difference will be Callahan and Lundqvist, but unfortunately it wont be enough. Sens win it tonight as Tortorella scratches his head wondering why Kreider didn't make the difference.

Do I have any takers?
